About The Position

The Senior Property Accountant will, under minimal supervision, perform accounting functions and duties for a portfolio of owned, managed, or joint-ventured residential properties. The Senior Property Accountant will actively participate in the preparation of the monthly financial statements and management reports for each property. They will establish and maintain a working relationship with the properties and upper management.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting
• 3-5 years’ experience in a real estate management environment
• Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Yardi accounting software experience.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and general accounting principles.

• Public accounting experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Financial reporting for assigned properties
• Assist with the onboarding of new properties
• Completing the monthly close process (including maintaining general ledger accounts, providing monthly account analysis, and reconciling balance sheet accounts)
• Prepare monthly journal entries and accruals
• Enforcing GAAP accounting principles and company policies
• Assist with annual budgeting and forecasting
• Review bank reconciliations for operating and security deposits accounts
• Oversee Accounts Payable/Vendor Management
• Oversee third-party accounting provider
• Reconcile intercompany accounts
• Assist in posting AP and processing weekly/biweekly check runs
• Processing cash receipts for Corporate level transactions
• Support property management and operations teams with financial inquiries or reporting needs.
• Assist with audits & tax preparation processes.
