Requirements

  • Two-year Associate’s degree in Engineering and 6 years of project management experience in similar industry; or 8 years equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to implement registry to eliminate, avoid, mitigate, and accept project risks.
  • Ability to execute the Department of Operations SOP as written and implied
  • Knowledge of electronic circuits and application, and of all basic electrical theories.
  • Knowledge of fire alarm systems operation and functions, and fire alarm products (EST products preferred)
  • Ability to read and review blueprints
  • Ability to work on multiple projects in different phases simultaneously
  • Must be a self-starter and be able to work both independently and in a team environment
  • Must be able to work well under pressure while preparing multiple projects
  • Ability to work flexible hours to ensure client expectations are met
  • Ability to communicate effectively, in writing and verbally, with clients, peers and management
  • Effective leadership skills, and ability to collaborate with various stakeholders
  • Advanced project management and implementation skills

  • Knowledge of applicable New York City building code

Responsibilities

  • Review project status with HRFS Engineer.
  • Strategize the most optimal way to complete job, i.e. creating and implementing a project plan.
  • Develop project plans with deliverables and milestones, costs, assigned resources, and schedules and lead project management and execution to meet or exceed project objectives.
  • Communicate and coordinate with clients and Field Service Managers (FSMs) on job scope and report on progress on a regular basis.
  • Conduct regular On-site Status Project Review appropriately to provide quality assurance and scope support to client and HRFS Technician.
  • Inquire about and document drawing numbers with revision dates of any changes or job additions/deletions to facilitate the amendments for the final documents of record.
  • Provide Sales Department with any changes through Request for Proposal (RFP) and record on commissioning progress report log.
  • Conduct pre-test and FDNY inspections.
  • Identify code issues and non-conformance issues, and make recommendations on alternative solutions to client/office.
  • Maintain accurate records of all work performed, materials used, and address any problem encountered or identified with the project(s).
  • Work on prime projects to include project budgeting, leveling, sub-contractor field supervision and other related functions
  • Collaborate with Salesperson on site walkthrough and/or takeoffs to help price jobs optimally.
  • Work on more complex, large design build and large prime projects.
  • Conduct trainings for HRF employees and clients on NYC and national codes. Conduct technical trainings on fire alarm products.
  • Train lower-level Project Managers on new and advanced project management theories and skills.
  • Serve as a Subject Matter Expert on business and organization development projects and initiatives.
