Senior Project Manager
About The Position
At ABB, we help industries run leaner and cleaner. This position reports to the Growth Segments Business Manager. In this role, the Senior Project Manager will lead the execution of medium-size and/or complex to large projects for Automation Energy Customers. They will ensure all related activities are performed in accordance with ABB policy, relevant cybersecurity regulations and standards, contractual agreements, quality standards, Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) requirements, financial targets, and schedule commitments. The role also involves supporting local management in overseeing team development and process improvement to continually increase the effectiveness of project execution, especially in smaller units, and taking accountability for a portfolio of projects when required. The work model for the role is Hybrid in Houston, TX. This role contributes to the Process Automation, Energy Industries division in Houston, TX.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s in Engineering (Electrical preferred, or similar discipline); will consider equivalent work experience.
- 12+ years of relevant professional experience; background in electrical strongly preferred
- Strong Project Management background and skills
- Fluent spoken and written English
- Strong drive for world-class quality
- Ability to independently work
- Authorized to work in the United States permanently without sponsorship
Nice To Haves
- Master’s degree is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Leads the project team, establishes the project execution approach, oversees project hand-over, execution planning, and monitoring and control activities for internal and external resources to accomplish all project goals.
- Managing the development of project planning documents
- Monitoring projects to ensure best practices in cost control, resource efficiency and Health, Safety & Environment (HSE)
- Analyzing and addressing project risks, and regularly disseminating lessons learned
- Working with other functions to coordinate contract negotiations and claims with customers
- Achieving project deliverables and compliance with contract requirements
- Building strong relationships with customers and stakeholders
- Provides performance feedback for the resources allocated to projects.
