About The Position

Boyd Jones is seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead complex construction projects from their Urbandale, IA office. This role involves serving as a primary client partner and contributing to the development of future project leaders within the company. The Senior Project Manager will have full accountability for project performance, client relationships, and team development across large, complex, or concurrent projects.

Requirements

• 8+ years of commercial construction project management experience, including leadership of large or complex projects
• Proven ability to manage client relationships, lead teams, and mentor emerging talent
• Strong financial acumen — comfortable owning forecasts, managing risk, and protecting margin
• Proficiency in Procore, Bluebeam, P6 or equivalent scheduling software, and Microsoft Office
• Excellent communicator — confident with executives, trade partners, and project teams alike
• OSHA 30 certified or willing to obtain

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred

Responsibilities

• Lead execution strategy, team alignment, and performance across complex or multiple concurrent projects from preconstruction through closeout
• Serve as the primary client contact — managing executive relationships, navigating challenges, and representing BJC with credibility
• Own financial performance: forecasting accuracy, risk mitigation, cash flow, and portfolio-level profitability
• Mentor and develop Project Managers, APMs, and Project Engineers — actively building bench strength on your teams
• Establish and reinforce risk management, safety culture, and quality standards across all assigned projects
• Review and approve RFIs, submittments, change events, and documentation prepared by project teams
• Lead OAC meetings, subcontractor coordination, and internal planning sessions
• Represent Boyd Jones in client presentations, interviews, and industry events
