Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Biology, Ecology, Natural Resources, Engineering, or a related field required.
  • 10+ years of experience in environmental consulting with demonstrated success managing large, complex, multidisciplinary projects.
  • Proven experience managing state and federal environmental permitting and natural resources projects for public and private sector clients
  • Proven experience directing the acquisition of Environmental Resource Permits (ERP) through FDEP and Florida Water Management Districts, overseeing Endangered Species Act Sections 7 and 10 consultations, and facilitating FWC listed species permitting (e.g., Eastern indigo snake, gopher tortoise, caracara).
  • Comfortable leading strategic negotiations for USACE Section 404/10 permits.
  • Strong technical knowledge in one or more resource areas such as wetlands, ecological restoration, wildlife, threatened and endangered species, aquatic resources, NEPA, water resources, environmental permitting, or related disciplines.
  • Demonstrated experience in business development, client management, and project financial performance, including responsibility for project profitability and client growth.
  • Proven ability to mentor staff, lead multidisciplinary project teams, and successfully manage complex project portfolios.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage multiple concurrent, large-scale, multidisciplinary environmental and natural resources projects for public and private sector clients.
  • Oversee all aspects of project execution, including budgeting, scheduling, resource allocation, risk management, and quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC).
  • Lead or support environmental permitting strategies for complex projects involving wetlands, aquatic resources, protected species, NEPA, and other regulatory programs.
  • Apply knowledge of federal, state, and local environmental regulations and permitting requirements throughout Florida and the Southeast.
  • Stay current with regulatory trends while maintaining strong relationships with agencies, clients, and industry partners.
  • Partner with regional and practice leadership to support strategic growth initiatives, business development, proposal preparation, and client expansion.
  • Identify new business opportunities and lead client pursuits through proposal preparation, scope development, presentations, and contract negotiations.
  • Serve as a primary client contact and trusted advisor, building long-term relationships through proactive communication and successful project delivery.
  • Collaborate with ECT's multidisciplinary technical teams to coordinate environmental, engineering, permitting, and natural resources services.
  • Mentor and support project managers and junior staff through technical guidance, performance feedback, and career development.
  • Lead internal QA/QC reviews to ensure technical excellence and compliance with ECT standards.
  • As opportunities arise, serve in ECT's Team Leader role by fostering collaboration, supporting staff development, and promoting knowledge sharing across teams.
  • Support resource planning and project staffing to promote successful project execution across multiple teams.
  • Represent ECT at industry events, conferences, and professional organizations to strengthen client relationships and promote continued growth.
