The company is seeking a Project Manager to join its Planning, Permitting and Licensing practice in Baton Rouge, LA, to support a growing energy practice (oil and gas, data centers, renewables). Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science/Arts degree in biology or a related field (e.g., ecology, wildlife biology, aquatic biology, botany, zoology, environmental science, natural resources management).
  • 10 to 15 years of experience performing and managing environmental planning, permitting, and licensing projects with a focus on energy projects.
  • Strong verbal, written, presentation, and client management skills.
  • Demonstrated ability in leading and managing complex projects.
  • Goal-oriented, quality-focused, and demonstrated success in creating and fostering a team environment.
  • Local regulatory experience in the Southeast with USACE, USFWS, State Wildlife and Natural Resource Agencies, and Local Governments.
  • NEPA experience completing Environmental Assessments and/or Environmental Impact Statements.
  • Demonstrated experience as a primary author on natural resources reports for various agencies and project types/sizes.
  • Proven track record with business development, business management, and oversight of regional businesses.
  • Experience managing cross-disciplinary scientific and engineering teams and front-end project development projects.
  • Strong business acumen and attributes.

Responsibilities

  • Manage environmental reports and complex field and desktop assessments, and environmental permitting.
  • Maintain quality and profitability on TRC’s projects.
  • Develop, monitor, and adhere to budgets, scopes, and schedules for managed tasks and projects.
  • Lead solicitation requests in collaboration with technical teams, operations, and market directors.
  • Manage medium to large-scale, often multi-disciplinary projects and maintain productive client relationships.
  • Lead FERC Environmental Reporting efforts.
  • Lead applicant-prepared and/or third-party environmental planning pertaining to NEPA for project advancement, including Environmental Assessments and Environmental Impact Statements.
  • Lead permitting efforts with USACE wetland/stream delineations, CWA Section 404 permitting, and ESA threatened and endangered species habitat assessments.
  • Lead state and local permitting efforts.
  • Mentor and coach staff on technical delivery, quality, and project financials.
  • Sell environmental planning and permitting services for energy clients, and when feasible, sell all of TRC’s Sector Services (OneTRC).
  • Travel out-of-town approximately 25% of work time.
