About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager / Professional Engineer (PE) to join a growing Florida engineering team in Jacksonville. This is a leadership-focused opportunity for a seasoned civil engineer who can combine technical project delivery, client relationship management, business development, and team leadership. You will manage municipal, public works, transportation, and civil infrastructure projects while serving as a trusted advisor to public-sector clients and helping expand the firm's presence throughout Florida. The ideal candidate brings an active Florida PE license, 10+ years of progressive civil infrastructure experience, proven project management capabilities, and established relationships with Florida municipalities, counties, transportation agencies, or utility providers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related engineering discipline from an ABET-accredited program.
  • Active Florida Professional Engineer (PE) license.
  • Minimum 10 years of progressive engineering experience in municipal, public works, transportation, or civil infrastructure.
  • Minimum 5 years of project management experience.
  • Demonstrated success managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Experience managing project budgets, schedules, contracts, and client expectations.
  • Strong understanding of Florida municipal, county, and state agency processes and requirements.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to develop and maintain client relationships.

  • 15+ years of related engineering experience.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as Project Manager for municipal, public works, transportation, and civil infrastructure projects.
  • Lead projects through planning, design, permitting, bidding, and construction.
  • Manage project scope, schedules, budgets, quality, contracts, and risk.
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary project teams, subconsultants, and client stakeholders.
  • Monitor project performance and ensure successful delivery of client objectives.
  • Prepare and review technical reports, studies, plans, specifications, and contract documents.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with municipal clients, public agencies, and key stakeholders.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned clients and projects.
  • Provide strategic guidance and technical expertise to support client infrastructure initiatives.
  • Identify opportunities to expand services with existing clients.
  • Support and lead business development initiatives throughout Florida.
  • Develop and execute client engagement strategies.
  • Identify upcoming project opportunities and actively participate in pursuits.
  • Lead proposal development, scope preparation, fee negotiations, and client presentations.
  • Represent the firm at industry events, conferences, and professional association meetings.
  • Collaborate with company leadership to support strategic growth objectives.
  • Mentor, coach, and support the professional growth of engineers and technical staff.
  • Provide technical guidance and quality oversight for project teams.
  • Support recruiting, onboarding, and staff retention initiatives.
  • Foster a collaborative, positive, and client-focused culture.
  • Help develop future project managers and technical leaders within the organization.
