About The Position

TRC is seeking a Senior Project Manager to oversee the implementation and delivery of a new Advanced Distribution Management System (including Outage Management System and Historian system) and a new Energy Management System within a client's territory. This role involves close collaboration with the end customer, vendors, and project personnel. The Senior Project Manager will be instrumental in growing TRC's consulting practice in the Operational Technology and Real-Time Systems domain, requiring in-depth knowledge of major EMS, SCADA, and ADMS systems such as OSII, GE, ABB, Schneider, and Siemens.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 10 years of Project Management experience in the utility domain.
  • Previous experience leading and managing large-scale, multifaceted enterprise-wide Operational Technologies Projects in an electric or gas utility environment.
  • Fully knowledgeable and proficient in all aspects of the Project Management Body of Knowledge.
  • Excellent organizational, decision-making, and presentation skills.
  • Excellent communication skills ranging from addressing C-Level to multiple technical teams.
  • Ability to self-direct and work independently as well as in a team environment.
  • Excellent team building and motivational skills.
  • Excellent budgeting and financial skills.
  • Proficiency with MS-Project and with MS Office Suite: Excel, PowerPoint, Word.
  • Strong judgment, leadership, organization, and communication skills.
  • Ability to travel up to 50% or on an as-needed basis to the client location.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience implementing large SCADA, EMS or ADMS programs, preferably on the technology vendor side.
  • PMP Certification.

Responsibilities

  • Responsibility for all aspects of the project over the entire project lifecycle, including assembling and managing delivery teams, assigning individual responsibilities, identifying appropriate resources, setting up and managing vendor and subcontractor engagements, and developing schedules for timely project completion.
  • Exercise judgement, leadership, organization, and communication skills.
  • Deliver project(s) to completion, owning the scope, cost, schedule, and risks, and managing multiple tracks, business and technical resources, consultants, and vendors.
  • Develop contractual Statements of Work with clients and suppliers, articulating precise assumptions and limits of responsibility.
  • Strategize and implement methodologies to increase project margins.
  • Assign work, monitor, and measure team outputs, and escalate resource gaps or shortfalls.
  • Act as TRC's representative, ensuring alignment between client and TRC interests for project success.
  • Manage vendors, ensuring contractual, operational, and relationship aspects are aligned for project success.
  • Foster a positive project work environment and lead the team to accomplish project objectives on time and on budget.
  • Develop workflow plans for project management from initial request through systems analysis, technical design, implementation, procurement, testing, turnover to production, and client migration.
  • Plan, prepare, and track project schedules and budgets to ensure controlled completion of each project step.
  • Prepare and maintain a risk assessment and mitigation action plan.
  • Maintain resource forecasts to ensure schedule compliance and desired results.
  • Update company and external stakeholders on project progress, changes from original plans, and existing or emerging risks.
  • Lead project core team meetings.
  • Present project progress at Steering Committee level with participation of senior executives from TRC or the client.
