About The Position

TRC is seeking a Senior Project Manager to oversee the implementation and delivery of a new Advanced Distribution Management System (including Outage Management System and Historian system) and a new Energy Management System for a client. This role involves managing the entire project lifecycle, from team assembly and resource allocation to vendor and subcontractor management, and schedule development. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong judgment, leadership, organization, and communication skills.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 10 years of Project Management experience in the utility domain.
  • Previous experience leading and managing large-scale, multifaceted enterprise-wide Operational Technologies Projects in an electric or gas utility environment.
  • Fully knowledgeable and proficient in all aspects of the Project Management Body of Knowledge.
  • Excellent organizational, decision making and presentation skills.
  • Excellent communication skills ranging from addressing C-Level to multiple technical teams.
  • Ability to self-direct and work independently as well as in a team environment.
  • Excellent team building and motivational skills.
  • Excellent budgeting and financial skills.
  • Proficiency with MS-Project and with MS Office Suite: Excel, PowerPoint, Word.
  • Must have strong judgement, leadership, organization, and communication skills.
  • Ability to travel up to 50% or on an as needed basis to the client location.

Nice To Haves

  • In-depth knowledge with any of the major EMS, SCADA, ADMS systems including: OSII, GE, ABB, Schneider, and Siemens.
  • Previous experience implementing large SCADA, EMS or ADMS programs, preferably on the technology vendor side.
  • PMP Certification.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver project(s) to completion, owning scope, cost, schedule, and risks.
  • Manage multiple tracks, business and technical resources, consultants, and vendors.
  • Develop contractual Statement of Works with clients and suppliers.
  • Strategize and implement methodologies to increase project margins.
  • Assign work, monitor, and measure team outputs, escalating resource gaps.
  • Act as TRC's representative, ensuring alignment between client and TRC interests.
  • Manage vendors, ensuring contractual, operational, and relationship alignment.
  • Foster a positive project work environment and lead the team to achieve project objectives on time and budget.
  • Develop workflow plans for project management from initial request through system analysis, design, implementation, procurement, testing, turnover, and client migration.
  • Plan, prepare, and track project schedules and budgets.
  • Prepare and maintain a risk assessment and mitigation action plan.
  • Maintain resource forecasts to ensure schedule compliance and desired results.
  • Update company and external stakeholders on project progress, changes, and risks.
  • Lead project core team meetings.
  • Present project progress at Steering Committee level.
