Commercial Construction Senior Project Manager - Government

About The Position

The Senior Project Manager effectively manages small and large-scale commercial construction projects from discovery and design through development and implementation. The role includes all duties performed by a Project Manager, along with additional responsibilities for contract negotiation, project oversight, client development, staffing, and closeout. The position focuses on government projects.

Requirements

10 or more years of experience with a commercial general contractor.
Ability to execute multiple project management efforts.
Proficiency in the Microsoft suite.
Has successfully acquired and/or contacted at least one new client.

Nice To Haves

A four-year degree from an accredited university with a concentration in construction, engineering, or business is strongly preferred; additional work experience is acceptable in lieu of a degree.

Responsibilities

Maintain adherence to HITT’s safety standards.
Ensure job processes are followed in accordance with HITT policies.
Negotiate contract terms and conditions with clients.
Monitor project progress using updated schedules.
Ensure the project Quality Control Plan is followed.
Assist project staff in resolving scope problems with subcontractors.
Ensure proper assignment and evaluation of field personnel within the project team and throughout the company.
Identify and negotiate time extensions where justified and allowed.
Acquire new work and maintain existing client relationships.
Maintain positive relationships with the subcontractor community.
Ensure timely completion of the closeout process.
Lead preconstruction and RFP package efforts with support from the Preconstruction Department and/or other company resources.
Delegate responsibility when necessary to keep projects and tasks running smoothly.
