Senior Software Project Manager

Schneider ElectricNashville, TN

About The Position

We have an exciting new opportunity to help build the execution engine of Schneider Electric’s Energy Management Software & Services organization. This is a unique moment to help shape “how we deliver”—bringing software and services together across a complex portfolio and ensuring the CTO’s strategic priorities translate into real, measurable progress. The initial mandate for this role is to lead delivery of a new software platform from concept through general availability, partnering closely with Engineering, Product, and Architecture to turn vision into a shipped product. The Senior Project Manager drives high-impact software platform initiatives from concept through general availability—establishing governance, managing engineering and cross-team dependencies, and ensuring predictable execution against release commitments. This role is expected to hold senior leaders accountable for commitments, timelines, and outcomes while maintaining strong partnerships across a matrixed environment.

Requirements

  • 6+ years leading complex initiatives in enterprise/matrix environments, with a minimum of 4 years project managing software product development (commercial SaaS or platform software strongly preferred).
  • Demonstrated ability to manage ambiguity, multiple stakeholders, and heavy dependency networks.
  • Strong executive communication and ability to challenge constructively.
  • Hands-on experience running the full software development lifecycle (SDLC) in Agile/Scrum or hybrid environments, including sprint planning, release management, and post-launch operations.
  • Working fluency in modern software architecture concepts (APIs, microservices, cloud/SaaS, CI/CD, DevOps)—sufficient to pressure-test engineering estimates and arbitrate technical tradeoffs with credibility.
  • Demonstrated track record of shepherding at least one new software product or platform from concept through general availability.

Nice To Haves

  • Jira, Confluence, Azure DevOps or GitHub, Gantt-based planning tools, Power BI (or equivalent).

Responsibilities

  • Build and manage integrated program plans (scope, milestones, dependencies, risks, mitigation, decision points).
  • Establish steering cadences and ensure decisions and actions are captured and executed.
  • Run the software development lifecycle (SDLC) end-to-end: discovery, architecture sign-off, sprint planning, build, QA, release, and post-launch hardening.
  • Support release planning and roadmap cadence across engineering squads; manage scope, sequencing, and tradeoffs between features, technical debt, and platform readiness.
  • Drive Agile/Scrum ceremonies where appropriate, while remaining pragmatic about hybrid approaches for hardware-adjacent or regulated workstreams.
  • Drive clear ownership and follow-through with VPs/SVPs; escalate early with options and tradeoffs.
  • Ensure transparency through crisp reporting, risk management, and stakeholder alignment.
  • Coordinate across engineering, product, services, security, finance, and operations (including integrated/non-integrated teams).
  • Develop dashboards and executive readouts that connect delivery status to value and outcomes.
