About The Position

IREN is seeking an on-site owner’s representative responsible for network infrastructure on a data center campus. The role manages low-voltage contractors installing fiber and structured cabling, drives meet-me room, entrance facility, and network-room readiness, and ensures network pathway, rack, and power dependencies are incorporated into each building from the start. The position is embedded with campus building teams and participates in their coordination meetings, look-ahead planning, and RFI and submittal processes. Day-to-day sequencing comes from the campus Project Director, while network standards are set by Network Infrastructure Engineering. The role works alongside Senior Project Managers – Network Delivery responsible for carrier delivery. The superintendent directs crews; this role owns the network scope and its acceptance. The Senior Project Manager manages contractor scope, specifications, and acceptance; coordinates room, entrance, pathway, rack, and power readiness; integrates network milestones with the campus master schedule; inspects field work and verifies quality; manages network submittals, RFIs, change control, and pay applications; and prepares infrastructure records and handover materials. The role also provides day-to-day direction and development feedback to Project Managers supporting campus network scope and reports network status, risks, schedule, and budget to the Director, Network Delivery and campus Project Director. This is a full-time, site-based position in Kiowa, Oklahoma. Daily commuting to the site or plans to relocate before starting are required. Travel to other IREN sites may be needed, and a flexible approach to working hours is required. Candidates must provide their own steel-toed work boots; other PPE is supplied. A clear criminal record check is required. IREN describes its data centers as powered by 100% renewable energy and says it aims to operate responsibly and sustainably, with a positive impact on the communities where it operates. Compensation is determined by experience, qualifications, and regional market data. The total compensation package may include an annual incentive bonus and equity. Relocation assistance may be available depending on the successful candidate’s circumstances.

Requirements

  • At least 10 years of experience in telecommunications, structured cabling, or data center construction.
  • At least 5 years of proven project management as an owner’s representative, infrastructure technology integration manager, low-voltage project manager, or construction manager on data center or mission-critical projects.
  • Ability to read and challenge Division 27 drawings and specifications, including fiber counts, pathways, cable tray, racks, panels, labeling, and testing requirements.
  • Hands-on experience managing low-voltage and fiber contractors in the field, including submittals, RFIs, rough-in and trim inspections, punch lists, and non-conformance close-out.
  • Working knowledge of fiber test acceptance, including Tier 1 insertion loss, Tier 2/OTDR, polarity, end-face inspection, and reading a test package.
  • Project administration skills, including RFI and submittal logs, meeting minutes, action registers, change-order packages, and pay-application review.
  • Proven ability to document and communicate network risks, schedule, and budget clearly and consistently to the Director, Network Delivery and campus Project Director.
  • Experience in a fast-paced growth environment and flexibility with work hours and site-based work.
  • OSHA 30.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Suite, including Project, Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Clear criminal record check required.
  • Must provide own steel-toed work boots; other PPE is supplied.
  • Must be able to reliably commute to the project site daily or have plans to relocate before starting.
  • Flexible approach to work hours and willingness to travel to other IREN sites as needed.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with inside-plant and campus backbone infrastructure, including MMR fit-out, MDF/IDF, pathways and cable tray, fiber and copper structured cabling, cross-connects, patch panels, and labeling standards.
  • Experience with on-site carrier interfaces, including entrance conduit and handholes, carrier rack space and power, splice and test acceptance, and service turn-up support.
  • Experience with operational technology network pathway and cabling dependencies for BMS, EPMS, fire and life-safety monitoring, security, CCTV, access control, and Wi-Fi.
  • Experience capturing rack, panel, port, and cable data during construction for NetBox or other DCIM platforms.
  • Experience with high-fiber-count trunk installation and splicing in data halls.
  • BICSI Technician, RCDD, FOA CFOT, or equivalent credentials.
  • PMP or equivalent project management certification; highly regarded but not required.
  • Experience with direct-to-subcontractor (multi-prime) delivery as well as GC-led delivery.
  • Familiarity with Procore, Bluebeam, SAP, and Primavera P6.

Responsibilities

  • Act as IREN’s single point of contact to low-voltage and fiber contractors for campus scope, specifications, and acceptance; leave sequencing and means and methods to the superintendent.
  • Verify contractor work against Division 27 scope and approved designs, and raise deviations as RFIs through Network Infrastructure Engineering rather than resolving them in the field.
  • Review contractor submittals, material tracking, and long-lead items against the schedule, and recommend contractor performance actions to the Director.
  • Drive meet-me room, entrance facility, and network-room readiness, including conduit, handholes, tray and pathways, racks, panels, grounding, and A/B power to carrier and network racks.
  • Coordinate network pathway, rack, and power dependencies with electrical, mechanical, and civil trades on each building team.
  • Maintain network milestones in the campus Integrated Project Master Schedule, including entrance conduit, MMR readiness, pathway completion, fiber pull windows, splice and test, and carrier equipment installation; construction owns the dates.
  • Attend daily and weekly building-team coordination meetings and look-ahead meetings, and flag network dependencies before they affect building milestones.
  • Conduct rough-in and trim inspections with the superintendent and verify installation, labeling, and workmanship against specifications.
  • Review fiber test packages against acceptance standards set by Network Infrastructure Engineering and drive non-conformance close-out and defect rectification.
  • Support network equipment and carrier gear installation windows with Network Engineering, carriers, and vendors.
  • Comply with IREN’s Risk, QA, and HSE management systems, promote zero harm, and model a positive HSE culture on site.
  • Maintain campus network RFI and submittal logs, meeting minutes, and action registers.
  • Prepare telecom change-order packages for the Director’s approval and review network-scope pay applications before construction releases them.
  • Capture construction-phase NetBox/DCIM source data for racks, panels, ports, cables, and circuits in the format required by Network Infrastructure Engineering, with contractors contractually obligated to provide the data.
  • Assemble network handover materials, including as-builts, test results, labeling schedules, DCIM records, and asset information; lead the joint punch and acceptance walk and handover to Operations.
  • Provide day-to-day direction, performance feedback, and an agreed development plan to any Project Manager assigned to support campus network scope.
  • Provide concise and reliable campus network status to the Director, Network Delivery and campus Project Director in the weekly campus network review.
  • Escalate site issues first to the superintendent, then to the construction project manager and Director, with a recommendation.
