About The Position

The Senior Project Manager for our Interim Infrastructure Sub-Program will oversee large-scale infrastructure revitalization and interior fit-out initiatives within active, live operational environments. This role requires a highly sophisticated level of multidisciplinary coordination, technical oversight, and stakeholder alignment to deliver complex expansions without impacting ongoing, daily business continuity. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of managing significant capital projects (CAPEX ranging from $100M to $400M+) involving heavy coordination across structural modifications, detailed mechanical/electrical/plumbing (MEP) integrations, and advanced specialized equipment installations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Construction Management, Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical), Architecture, or a related technical discipline—or equivalent extensive field leadership experience.
  • 15+ years of progressive experience in design and construction management of major airfield or civil infrastructure projects.
  • Strong understanding of building systems and infrastructure interfaces.
  • Strong literacy in structural steel framing modifications, multi-level utility diversions, floor slab integrations, localized HVAC/fan coil installations, and automated material handling system tie-ins.
  • Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary design teams in live operational airport environments.
  • Experience managing complex stakeholder groups including GTAA, Nav Canada, and regulatory authorities.
  • Demonstrated experience in Progressive Design-Build or Design-Build project delivery models.
  • Strong commercial and technical acumen with the ability to evaluate design decisions against schedule and cost impacts.
  • Excellent leadership, coordination, and communication skills across technical and field teams.
  • Proficiency with project management tools, digital collaboration platforms, and document control systems.
  • Commitment to safety, innovation, and continuous improvement within a multidisciplinary program environment.
  • Valid driver’s license and eligibility for RAIC clearance and AVOP required.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience successfully navigating the stringent security requirements, logistics constraints, and permit-heavy frameworks typical of complex transit hubs, major industrial sites, or airport terminals is considered an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the end-to-end execution of core/shell modifications and interior fit-outs within live, highly secure, and active passenger or public spaces.
  • Establish robust work isolation, dust/noise barriers, and multi-stage construction phasing plans to guarantee zero operational downtime or service degradation.
  • Lead daily synchronization across corporate clients, internal operations departments, institutional design groups, and the general contractor or Design-Builder. Serve as the primary operational liaison to continuously align design progress milestones with real-time site constraints.
  • Formulate a master strategy to navigate multi-tiered permitting frameworks, including building, zoning, structural testing, and site infrastructure diversions.
  • Ensure absolute compliance with specialized security authorities, emergency service mandates, and strict technical guidelines.
  • Oversee the structural tie-in, automated mechanical integration, electrical upgrades, and IT infrastructure installations for high-throughput, mission-critical systems.
  • Manage complex asset relocations and coordinate technical space re-configurations (e.g., control centers, regulatory offices).
  • Support with comprehensive site logistics, off-site prefabrication, and strict asset positioning protocols to handle heavily constrained delivery zones and minimal laydown areas.
  • Mitigate procurement and implementation risks via structured milestone check-ins.
  • Ensure absolute budget compliance against approved parameters.
  • Partner closely with estimation and cost-control teams to perform technical value engineering and continuous assumption validation.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and environmental standards throughout design and construction phases.
  • Facilitate design workshops, progress meetings, and coordination reviews with construction leads and subcontractors.
  • Review and approve technical reports, drawings, and submissions, ensuring completeness and adherence to design intent.
  • Coordinate with cost planning and estimating to validate design quantities and scope alignment.
  • Track KPI’s.
  • Cost tracking and Invoice review and approval.
  • Promote collaboration, innovation, and knowledge-sharing across the Interim Sub-Program team.
