Senior Project Manager/Environmental Scientist
About The Position
Join GHD's US West Environment Market as a motivated Senior Project Manager/Environmental Scientist to lead the expansion of GHD’s Contamination, Assessment and Remediation (CAR) practice in the West. This role focuses on identifying and investigating contaminants and their impacts on soil, groundwater, surface water, and soil vapor/air, as well as selecting, designing, and implementing effective and sustainable remedial solutions. You will provide technical and delivery leadership for CAR projects for clients across various sectors including Petroleum, Oil, Gas, Government, Chemical, Manufacturing, Mining, Energy, Transport, Emergency Services, Agriculture, Developers, and Legal. Mentorship and development of junior and mid-level staff are critical components of this role. There are opportunities for travel to project sites and to provide desktop support for projects domestically and internationally. Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Geology or equivalent field.
- Minimum 10 years experience in the field.
- PG preferred.

- Master's Degree preferred.
Responsibilities
- Lead delivery of environmental investigation, remediation, and compliance projects across multiple sites, managing scope, schedule, budget, and risk.
- Direct the collection, evaluation, and interpretation of environmental data to support site conceptual models, remedial strategies, and regulatory decision-making.
- Provide senior-level review of technical work products and ensure defensibility of conclusions.
- Oversee preparation and delivery of regulatory submittments, ensuring consistency with applicable federal, state/provincial, and local frameworks.
- Maintain awareness of evolving regulatory requirements and integrate them into project execution strategies.
- Champion a strong safety culture across field and office activities, monitoring HSE performance and proactively addressing risks.
- Serve as a key point of contact for client stakeholders, building trusted relationships.
- Lead multidisciplinary teams in evaluating complex site conditions and developing practical, cost-effective remedial approaches.
- Oversee subcontractors and specialty vendors, including scope development and performance management.
- Prepare and manage project reporting, including progress tracking, financial forecasting, and performance metrics.
- Support business development activities, including proposal development and scope definition.
- Mentor junior and mid-level staff, providing technical guidance, project direction, and career development support.
