About The Position

As a Senior Project Manager with Linxon, you will manage projects strategically and operationally, ensuring the best use of technical and human resources while meeting specifications, timelines, and budget goals. In this role, you’ll plan, monitor, and lead engineering and construction projects from initiation through completion, driving success every step of the way. Linxon blends AtkinsRéalis’ project management strength with Hitachi Energy’s technological leadership to deliver high‑performing EPC solutions that strengthen the power grid. They support community growth and industrial development by providing end‑to‑end engineering, procurement, management, and construction services for complex AC substation and electrification projects across five core markets.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience delivering complex projects within the electrical transmission sector.
  • PMP certified or hold a comparable Project Management qualification (PMP preferred but not essential).
  • Experienced in managing electrical transmission projects, including civil construction activities.
  • Skilled at identifying, mitigating, and managing risks and opportunities to minimize project delays and protect business reputation.
  • Proven track record of successfully delivering large-scale, multi-million-pound projects.
  • Commercially minded and able to align project objectives with broader business goals and strategic priorities.
  • Strong leader and negotiator, capable of resolving complex issues while building and maintaining positive customer relationships.
  • Highly organized and able to establish, implement, and manage effective project processes and controls.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a practical approach to developing sustainable solutions in evolving environments.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and confident leading projects through challenging and high-pressure situations.
  • Adept at managing diverse stakeholder groups and fostering collaboration across teams and organizations.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) standards are implemented and maintained at the highest level, in compliance with company and customer requirements.
  • Secure all required permits, approvals, and legal documentation prior to project execution.
  • Uphold and promote the highest quality standards throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor project quality plans to ensure successful delivery.
  • Assume full responsibility for the successful delivery of large-scale, multi-million-pound projects, including commercial, technical, and construction activities.
  • Drive project performance to achieve or exceed business objectives and key performance indicators.
  • Develop and implement cost-effective strategies that support efficient and timely project completion.
  • Monitor project progress, financial performance, and quality outcomes to ensure targets are met.
  • Lead a portfolio of complex projects, overseeing resource allocation, recruitment, and team performance.
  • Coach, mentor, and support Project Managers, enabling them to effectively lead and develop their teams.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement across project teams.
  • Secure the resources required for successful project delivery and apply structured processes to manage budgets, risks, and change control.
  • Align project strategies, schedules, and outcomes with organizational objectives and market conditions.
  • Provide strategic direction and make informed decisions that support successful project execution.
  • Collaborate with sales and tendering teams, providing project expertise to support future business opportunities.
  • Act as the senior customer representative, ensuring client expectations are consistently met and exceeded.
  • Partner with Supply Chain teams to select subcontractors, negotiate commercial agreements, and manage contractual relationships.
  • Maintain effective communication with clients, stakeholders, and project teams, providing regular updates on project performance and progress.
  • Build and maintain strong, trusted relationships with customers, partners, and key stakeholders.
  • Stay informed of industry developments, market trends, and competitor activity to support strategic decision-making.
  • Share market insights and industry knowledge to strengthen project delivery and organizational success.
