About The Position

In Canada, our Bridge department has offices in Toronto, Vancouver, Montreal, and Québec City. AtkinsRéalis also has a large international presence with over 700 bridges professionals globally, and involvement in some of the most complex structures in the world. The Bridges Department – Central Region (Great Toronto Area), is looking for a Senior Project Manager (Bridges) for our team in Ontario. Reporting to the Manager, Central Region, the Senior Project Manager will be responsible for carrying out project management and structural lead in the field of bridges and structural engineering projects. This will include the development, analysis, design, evaluation, inspection, and execution of various projects.

Requirements

  • Degree in Civil Engineering (preferably with a Structural major).
  • Registered as Professional Engineer (P. Eng) with EGBC.
  • 15+ years of experience in engineering practice in analysis and design of various types of bridge and transportation structures; railway structures is an asset.
  • Experience with reviewing condition survey reports and making recommendations for rehabilitation strategy.
  • Experience with the Canadian Highway Bridge Design Code (CHBDC) and the American Railway Engineering and Maintenance-of-Way Association (AREMA) Code.
  • Demonstrated experience working in a multi-disciplinary team delivering projects with variety of complexity, type of bridge, size and scope.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) designation with 10 years in project management.
  • Proficient in SAP 2000, CSI Bridge, MIDAS, Staad Pro, ETABS, Bentley ProjectWise and Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

  • Provide project management for multidisciplinary bridge projects.
  • Ensure communication with clients.
  • Ensure that projects are carried out according to a high quality standard while respecting the schedule and budgets according to the requirements of the contract.
  • Lead a design team for a variety of projects.
  • Applying advanced engineering techniques and tools for solution of complex engineering challenges.
  • Directing, coaching, supporting and guiding employees (engineers and technicians) assigned to projects.
  • Advise management and collaborate with other disciplines.
  • Preparation of proposals and participation in business development including publications and conferences.
  • Preparing structural designs and evaluations, and contract packages for MTO and other key Clients, including current Ministry policies, procedures, standards, specifications, and manuals.
