About The Position

The NYC Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) enriches the environment and protects public health for all New Yorkers by providing 1.1 billion gallons of high-quality drinking water, managing wastewater and stormwater, and reducing air, noise, and hazardous materials pollution. DEP is the largest combined municipal water and wastewater utility in the country, with nearly 6,000 employees. DEP's water supply system is comprised of 19 reservoirs and 3 controlled lakes throughout the system’s 2,000 square mile watershed that extends 125 miles north and west of the City. The Bureau of Water Supply (BWS) Capital Programs Management Directorate, under its Infrastructure Planning, Design & Construction group, is responsible for the planning, design, and construction of the Bureau’s capital projects. The overall program consists of several on-call contracts, each of which may have up to a dozen individual assignments, that must be executed concomitantly. In support of these efforts, BWS seeks to hire an Administrative Engineer NM-1 to serve as a Senior Project Engineer, located in Valhalla NY. Under supervision, and with a high degree of latitude, the Senior Project Engineer is responsible for supporting the Deputy Director of Capital Programs Management, the Chief of Construction Management, and the Deputy Chief of Planning & Design, in the planning, management, and coordination of moderately complex capital projects from scope, design, and construction phases.
