About The Position

Firestone Polymers, LLC, a subsidiary of Bridgestone Americas, manufactures polymers and synthetic rubber at its ISO 9001:2015- and 14001:2015-registered plant in Lake Charles, Louisiana. The Senior Project Engineer designs, communicates, and implements operational plans for engineering-based projects. This senior professional role applies advanced knowledge, typically gained through education and work experience, to difficult and sometimes complex problems. A background in controls and DCS systems is preferred.

Requirements

Typically, at least 5 years of related experience with a bachelor’s degree; or 3 years with a master’s degree; or a PhD without experience; or equivalent work experience.

Responsibilities

Lead projects or processes of diverse scope, working independently with limited supervision.
Coach and review the work of lower-level professionals.
Support continuous improvement and automation activities.
Prepare project plans, project controls, specifications, schedules, cost estimates, and plans for production, transportation, installation, testing, or commissioning of project deliverables.
Monitor progress and performance against project plans, taking action to resolve operational problems and minimize delays.
Identify, develop, and gather the resources needed to complete projects.
May prepare engineering standards, designs, and work specifications; develop project schedules, budgets, and forecasts; and select materials, equipment, project staff, and external contractors.
Support relationships through strong communication and negotiation with internal and external stakeholders.
Perform other duties as assigned.
