We are seeking a Senior Project Director-Coastal and Ports to join our team in Baton Rouge, LA. Your role will involve performing and leading planning, engineering analysis and design, and production of engineering drawings and specifications for coastal and waterfront structures. You will manage staff to support our growth in the Gulf coast with an emphasis on Texas and Louisiana. This role also includes performing inspection and condition assessment of waterfront infrastructure, supervising engineering analysis and design, leading the development of construction plans, specifications, and cost estimates, and conducting data acquisition and analysis. You will research the feasibility of alternative design approaches, site conditions, and regulatory specifications. The work involves coordination, research, and problem-solving on unique or controversial engineering projects that have a significant impact on major organization programs. You will work closely with designers, other discipline engineers, and project managers as part of a multidisciplinary project delivery team, and interface with clients, subconsultants, and other stakeholders. Ensuring that all engineering deliverables comply with applicable codes and standards, and that all project documentation and deliverables are reviewed in accordance with corporate QA/QC procedures is crucial. You will interact with contractors for construction administration, including shop drawing reviews, site visits, and RFI responses. Preparing materials for reports and permit applications, gathering information, and preparing text, work progression documents, and graphic presentations are also key responsibilities. You will perform field observations of construction for structures such as port terminals, cruise terminals, and oil & gas platforms. Additionally, you will participate in team growth and development by providing mentorship and technical guidance to junior staff. You will serve as the primary point of contact on assigned projects and manage multi-disciplinary projects in collaboration with design task leads and cross-disciplinary staff and subconsultants. Developing and managing project management plans, schedules, and budgets, actively managing project risks, budget, and schedule, and providing routine update and progress reports to the client and internal leadership are essential. You will also manage QA/QC processes on project deliverables and prepare scopes of work and fee estimates for proposals. Leading client relationship management and business development in the Gulf Coast region is a key aspect of this role. You will perform other duties as needed to support evolving business priorities.
