HDR is seeking a Coastal Project Manager to join their nationally ranked team of coastal professionals across the United States. This role is for a proven leader with strong technical expertise and project management experience to help deliver innovative solutions for coastal resilience, restoration, and navigation infrastructure. The Water Business Group focuses on managing water resources for future generations, including safe drinking water, wastewater treatment, sustainable water supplies, and flood control, aiming to improve public health, environmental sustainability, and infrastructure resilience.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in related field
  • 7 years related experience
  • A minimum of 2 years project management experience
  • Must have the ability to interact with various design teams
  • Excellent organizational, project management and communication (both written and verbal) skills
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree in Coastal, Ocean, or Civil engineering preferred
  • PMP certification

Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate single- and multidisciplinary teams throughout the full project lifecycle (initiation through close-out)
  • Manage complex small- to medium-sized projects, or serve as a key leader on larger efforts
  • Oversee multiple projects concurrently, ensuring successful delivery on schedule, budget, and quality
  • Perform and oversee analysis and design for: Coastal restoration projects, Beach nourishment projects, Shoreline protection systems (revetments, living shorelines), Sea level rise and resilience assessments, Navigation and dredging projects (marinas, harbors, channels)
  • Develop and maintain strong client relationships, participating in marketing and business development efforts
  • Lead or support: Proposal development, Scope definition, Fee and cost estimates
  • Facilitate design workshops and coordination meetings with internal teams and external stakeholders
  • Plan and manage staffing and workload across the project lifecycle
  • Track and manage project financials, adjusting resources to meet budget and schedule targets
  • Partner with accounting, operations, and business leadership on project performance reviews
  • Ensure adherence to and implementation of QA/QC procedures
