The Paving the Way for Racialized and Immigrant Women project shall aim to advance women’s economic security and prosperity in Ontario’s Workforce. Achēv will address gaps identified in Phase 1 by 1) engaging in dedicated partnerships with employers to advance workplace Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Accessibility (DEIA) inclusion in policies, governance, and decision-making structures; and 2) designing, testing and launching advanced DEIA training materials through a digital platform to increase access and reach to Ontario employers, enabling asynchronous access while tracking engagement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in social sciences, human resources, education, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a consulting role specializing in DEIA training and/or facilitation.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in curriculum development, learning and development, or a related role.
  • Strong facilitation and presentation skills, with the ability to engage and inspire diverse audiences.
  • In-depth knowledge of DEIA best practices and principles.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to create and customize training materials to address specific organizational needs.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and establish and maintain effective and cooperative working relationships with clients, team members, employers, and community partners.
  • Demonstrated ability to achieve high-performance goals and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule depending on program demands; evenings, weekends, or split shifts as necessary.

Nice To Haves

  • Graduate level degree and relevant certifications in DEIA is an asset.
  • Experience with non-profit and corporate organizations is an asset.
  • Proficiency in using virtual training platforms and technology and relevant experience with creating DEIA-focused learning is an asset.
  • Experience working with immigrant and racialized communities is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Build curriculum outlines and materials to create DEIA training materials to meet the specific needs of diverse audiences.
  • Record asynchronous learning opportunities using OBS software.
  • Lead and facilitate virtual and in-person DEIA workshops and training sessions for employers and organizations across Ontario.
  • Create and disperse feedback questionnaires that measure the impact of training sessions and revise offerings based on this data.
  • Create standardized materials to assist employers in the creation and maintenance of Employee Resource Groups (ERGs), and DEIA Committees.
  • Collaborate with employers to assist in the creation and implementation of ERGs and DEIA Committees through regular meetings.
  • Provide ongoing support and guidance to employers to aid in the implementation of DEIA best practices and principles.
  • Review and report on employer policies’ strengths and areas for improvement through a DEIA lens and synthesize recommendations based on DEIA best practices.
  • Assist in the preparation of reports and documentation for program evaluation.
