About The Position

Boeing Global Services (BGS) is seeking experienced Multi-Skilled Project Engineers to join the Commercial Modifications Engineering IPT in Long Beach, California. The team works on complex technical work statements in a fast-paced environment, overseeing interior modification projects on all Boeing airplane platforms. This role offers career growth opportunities and exposure to various technical disciplines and product life cycle phases. The selected candidate will act as a technical leader, consulting on project proposals, developing integrated project plans, and collaborating with program management and functional engineering teams for successful product delivery. Responsibilities include spearheading technical issue resolution, leading continuous improvement initiatives, and supporting the development of future Commercial Modifications capabilities. The company is hiring for Senior or Lead Project Engineer experience levels.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
  • 5+ years’ experience in leading teams or projects
  • 5+ years’ experience supporting cross functional teams
  • Aircraft Interior commodity experience (Interior commodities are items such as overhead stowage bins, lavatories, galleys, seats, PSU, sidewalls, air grilles, flight deck seats, etc.)

Nice To Haves

  • 10 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 5+ years' experience as a Technical Lead or Senior Technical Lead on Aerospace Design Vehicles
  • Previous experience working in an aircraft modification environment or with Supplemental Type Certifications (STC)
  • Has good understanding of CFR Title 14 FAA Part 25 regulations
  • Experience working with external suppliers
  • Ability to travel domestic & international up to 10% of the time

Responsibilities

  • Fully understand the project statement of work including safety and certification requirements
  • Facilitates Technical Design Reviews to help drive resolution to complex technical issues
  • Provides engineering and integration leadership to teams across multiple skill areas, which may include internal and external stakeholders and customers
  • Performs as Project Technical Leader guiding the integrated product team (IPT)
  • Develops the integrated project plans, project schedule, statement of work, and certification strategy to support the research and development, ongoing and new business requirements
  • Supports project proposal activities by reviewing statement of work, assessing potential impact to certification or to configuration control, and defining overall effort required to complete the project
  • Oversee the project execution to completion and monitors and reports project technical performance metrics to leadership
  • Identify potential risks to projects and outline coherent action plans for mitigation and resolution
  • Compare actual results to the baseline plan to assess project performance, efficiencies, productivity and document the lessons learned
  • Identify and lead improvement initiatives to optimize organizational quality and project flow
  • Work under minimal direction and is proactive
