About The Position

In business since 1983, we are a solid, stable construction company with a long-standing reputation our client's trust. We have built something that lasts -- not just the projects we complete, but the relationships and culture we have developed over decades. We are looking for a Senior Project Accountant who brings more than just technical skill -- someone with real character. If you are humble, hardworking, and thrive when you are in the middle of complex, hands-on work, we want to hear from you. This is a senior individual contributor role at the heart of our finance team. You will work hands-on across Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, and payroll for 140+ employees -- and serve as a key backup across all three functions. For the right person, this role offers a clear path to grow into an Accounting Manager or Assistant Controller.

  • A track record of integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism
  • A bachelor's degree in accounting or equivalent hands-on experience

Responsibilities

  • Process progress billings, AIA/Schedule of Values (SOVs), and change orders
  • Track retention and follow up on timely collections
  • Prepare Preliminary Notices and Lien Waivers to protect the company's interests
  • Maintain accurate records and support strong client relationships
  • Process a high volume of vendor invoices accurately and efficiently
  • Assist with GL reconciliations and weekly check runs
  • Support vendor relationships and resolve discrepancies promptly
  • Assist in processing complex payroll for 140+ employees across multiple pay types
  • Ensure compliance with Prevailing Wage and Certified Payroll requirements
  • Handle pay scales, raises, reimbursements, loans, and bonuses
  • Assist with WIP reports, job cost reports, and month-end close
  • Support GL reconciliation and internal reporting
  • Contribute to process improvements and help maintain strong internal controls
  • Serve as a key backup for AR, AP, and Payroll team members
  • Cross-train across functions to build a flexible, dependable team
