FEDSYNC•Fredericksburg, VA
•$95,000 - $115,000•Remote

About The Position

FedSync is seeking a Senior Program Manager to lead its corporate Program Management Office (PMO). This enterprise-level role oversees a portfolio of federal contracts rather than a single project. The Senior Program Manager sets program management standards across the company, holds portfolio-level P&L accountability, and mentors the Program and Project Managers responsible for individual contracts. The role reports to executive leadership and partners with Business Development, Contracts, Finance, and HR to shape FedSync’s growth. It is intended for an experienced federal Program Manager ready to move from leading one program to leading the program function. The position is remote and requires quarterly travel. Employment is contingent on an acceptable background check, including criminal history and credit checks.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Management, Engineering, IT, or a related field.
  • 12+ years of professional experience, including 7+ years managing federal government contracts or programs.
  • Demonstrated success leading multiple concurrent programs or a portfolio with a combined value of $25M+ and 50+ staff.
  • Experience with P&L management, financial forecasting, and contract-level cost controls.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
  • U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
  • Executive-level communication skills, including briefing senior government and corporate leaders.
  • Acceptable background check, including criminal history and credit checks.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree (MBA, MPM, or related).
  • Active security clearance (Secret or higher).
  • PgMP, FAC-P/PM Senior/Expert, Agile/SAFe, or Lean Six Sigma certification.
  • Experience building or maturing a PMO in a growing government contractor.
  • Capture and proposal experience, including serving as proposed Key Personnel.
  • Core competencies: strategic leadership, business acumen, talent development, customer relationships, risk management, and accountability.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the corporate PMO and provide executive oversight of all FedSync federal contracts and task orders.
  • Establish and maintain enterprise program management standards, processes, tools, templates, and governance.
  • Own portfolio-level financial performance, including revenue, margin, backlog, funding, and forecasting.
  • Conduct monthly program management reviews with program leads, identify risks early, and drive corrective action.
  • Serve as the executive point of contact for government customers and escalate or resolve contract-level issues.
  • Recruit, develop, and mentor Program and Project Managers; build a bench of Key Personnel for future bids.
  • Partner with Business Development on capture and proposals, including solution design, staffing plans, pricing input, and past performance.
  • Lead new-contract transitions and recompete readiness across the portfolio.
  • Ensure company-wide compliance with FAR/DFARS, quality, security, and audit requirements; drive strong CPARS ratings.
  • Report portfolio health and strategic recommendations to executive leadership.
