About The Position

Agilent is seeking a Senior Program Manager to lead deployment of engineering tools, automation, and AI capabilities across its R&D organization. The role covers the full cycle: understanding engineers’ needs, translating them into deployment programs, rolling out tools and systems, and supporting sustained adoption. It runs voice-of-customer efforts with engineering teams across divisions and turns findings into deployment priorities and business cases in partnership with engineering leadership. The role owns end-to-end deployment programs for architecture implementation and AI capabilities, from pilot through enterprise rollout. It drives systematization so promising tools and pilots become repeatable, well-governed capabilities that scale across divisions, partnering with IT, engineering operations, and divisional leads on rollout logistics, training, change management, and post-deployment adoption tracking. The position also leads program management for cross-divisional automation initiatives, including coordination with Agilent’s China Innovation Center on accelerated engineering projects. It develops program plans, governance, and reporting to align divisional teams, strategic marketing, the innovation hub, and the CTO office. A systems engineering background is highly valued, particularly the ability to understand how engineering tools fit into the product development lifecycle and to discuss technical workflows credibly with engineering leads. The role has a full-time weekly schedule, offers the option to work remotely, and requires 25% travel. The listed shift is day.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of program or project management experience in a hardware or instrument R&D environment, including experience deploying tools, processes, or capabilities across engineering teams.
  • Experience running voice-of-customer or internal stakeholder research efforts and translating findings into action.
  • Strong program and portfolio management skills, including scope, schedule, risk, and stakeholder management.
  • Comfort operating in a technical environment and holding credible conversations with engineering leads about systems-level and architecture workflows.
  • Ability to run voice-of-customer processes and turn qualitative input into a structured plan.
  • Ability to build structure and process without slowing teams down, tailored to an engineering audience.
  • Strong cross-functional influence and communication skills, including aligning divisional and hub stakeholders without direct authority.

Nice To Haves

  • Systems engineering background or hands-on experience working within a systems engineering process.
  • Experience with engineering tool rollouts, digital transformation, or AI and automation adoption initiatives.
  • Experience running cross-divisional or multi-site programs, ideally involving an offshore or globally distributed engineering team.

Responsibilities

  • Run structured voice-of-customer efforts with engineering teams across divisions to identify where tools, automation, and AI capabilities could have the most impact.
  • Synthesize stakeholder findings into deployment priorities and business cases, partnering with engineering leadership to validate direction.
  • Stay current on engineering tools and AI capabilities relevant to hardware and systems engineering workflows.
  • Own end-to-end deployment programs for architecture implementation and AI capabilities, from pilot through full rollout.
  • Turn promising tools and pilots into repeatable, well-governed capabilities that scale across divisions.
  • Partner with IT, engineering operations, and divisional leads on rollout logistics, training, and change management.
  • Track adoption and usage after deployment and course-correct programs as needed.
  • Lead program management for cross-divisional automation initiatives, including coordination with the China Innovation Center on accelerated engineering projects.
  • Build and run program plans, governance cadences, and status reporting to align divisional teams, strategic marketing, and the innovation hub on scope and timing.
  • Manage cross-time-zone program cadence with the China Innovation Center and keep risks and dependencies visible to stakeholders.
  • Maintain a portfolio view of architecture and automation programs, including status, risks, resourcing, and timelines.
  • Partner with divisional program managers and engineering leads to resolve cross-program dependencies.
  • Report program health and key decisions regularly to the CTO office and other senior stakeholders.
