About The Position

AST’s Tactical Exploitation Division (TED) is seeking a Senior Program Manager to lead a broad portfolio of SIGINT programs totaling approximately $20M annually. These programs span the full product life cycle, including development, production, deployment, and long‑term sustainment. The ideal candidate brings demonstrated leadership in managing complex, technology‑intensive programs within the national security domain, with a strong track record of customer engagement, execution excellence, and cross‑functional team leadership. The candidate requires familiarity with the following technologies: COMINT, RF apertures and processing, COTS integration, signal processing, firmware, software, and hardware development.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 10 years of prior relevant experience
  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued Top Secret SCI (TS/SCI) security clearance required prior to start date.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
  • 10+ years of experience managing complex defense, intelligence, or aerospace programs.
  • Proven success leading multi‑disciplinary teams in a matrixed environment.
  • Experience managing programs that include hardware, software, and system integration elements.
  • Strong customer‑facing skills and experience working directly with government acquisition and technical counterparts.
  • Demonstrated financial acumen, including EVMS, program baselining, and forecasting.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science, business, or related field; advanced degree preferred
  • Background in SIGINT, EW, RF systems, ISR, or related technical domains.
  • Experience with high‑urgency Quick Reaction Capabilities (QRC) or rapid prototyping environments.
  • Familiarity with Collins/RTX program management processes, tools, and gate reviews.
  • PMP or equivalent program management certification.

Responsibilities

  • Lead program planning, execution, financial management, and reporting across a portfolio of SIGINT programs.
  • Manage the full product life cycle, from concept development and requirements definition through production, fielding, and sustainment.
  • Serve as primary customer interface for programmatic and technical matters, ensuring clear communication, alignment of expectations, and rapid issue resolution.
  • Partner closely with engineering, supply chain, operations, and mission assurance organizations to ensure on‑time, on‑budget delivery of all contractual commitments.
  • Proactively identify risks, develop mitigation strategies, and maintain execution discipline across all efforts.
  • Lead proposal efforts, including development of technical solutions, cost estimates, and program schedules for new and follow‑on business.
  • Drive continuous improvement, operational rigor, and execution predictability across the program portfolio.
  • Mentor and guide junior program managers and project leads.
  • May travel up to 25%
