About The Position

Zoox is transitioning from its R&D phase into commercial operations. The process and strategy team within fleet operations is tasked with identifying and implementing operational improvements to enable efficient scaling while maintaining a high rider experience. This role will focus on designing, coordinating, documenting, and implementing large-scale operational process improvement initiatives for the Mission Readiness program. The Mission Readiness team is responsible for critical vehicle tasks such as charging, cleaning, and inspections, where minimizing vehicle turn times is paramount. The ideal candidate will possess the ability to manage and refine approaches for identifying, assessing, and driving continuous improvements to scale operations. This position requires a balance of strategic thinking and detailed, tactical execution, with the capacity to work independently, navigate ambiguously defined problems, confront significant challenges, and adapt to frequent changes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field
  • 8+ years of experience in program management, operational excellence, process improvement, or a related field
  • Experience in a product-based operations environment
  • Prior experience developing and using data and metrics to support strategic decision-making
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proactive mindset and resourcefulness

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree in a relevant discipline (Business Administration, Engineering, Computer Science, Program Management, etc.)
  • Six Sigma Certifications
  • PMP, PgMP, or similar project management certification
  • Experience in the autonomous vehicle, ride-hail, transportation, or other relevant mobility industries
  • Experience with Lean/Six Sigma methodologies and ideally, possessing certifications

Responsibilities

  • Identify operational improvements for the Mission Readiness function that set us up for scale
  • Work cross-functionally to intake, document, and prioritize requests for process changes from a number of partner teams
  • Design and document workflows focused on vehicle charging, cleaning, inspections, etc.
  • Provide bi-weekly status updates to key stakeholders on process improvement initiatives
  • Set the vision for the Mission Readiness function and ensure success via metrics like vehicle turnaround time
