About The Position

Project Bread is seeking a Senior Program Manager to join their team, focusing on the Health Care Partnerships (HCP) program. This program addresses food insecurity through the healthcare system, utilizing MassHealth's Health-Related Social Needs program. The HCP program offers comprehensive case management, including food benefits, cooking classes, counseling, nutrition education, and kitchen supplies, to eligible MassHealth patients with food insecurity and a health diagnosis. The Senior Program Manager will be the operational backbone of this program, managing staff, systems, and vendor relationships to ensure effective program delivery and strengthen program infrastructure.

Requirements

  • Project management skills: Able to think broadly about big picture goals and translate them into actionable tasks, delegate, and oversee implementation.
  • People management skills: Able to support a team of early career professionals, help them set growth goals, and provide continuous feedback.
  • Technological acumen: Able to perform complex tasks in Excel and Salesforce, self-teach new technologies, adapt quickly, and teach others.
  • Highly organized, motivated, and detail-oriented: Able to juggle competing demands, prioritize without sacrificing quality, notice and fix errors, and maintain high standards.
  • Ability to adapt communication style to meet different learning styles without sacrificing nuance.
  • Flexibility to pivot priorities in a short time period.
  • Ability to problem-solve independently.
  • Experience with programs that support low-income, or other vulnerable, populations.
  • 5+ years of professional experience in nonprofit, government, or social service organizations.

Nice To Haves

  • Ability to speak Spanish, Portuguese, Cape Verdean Creole, or Haitian Creole is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Manage relationships with external vendors for program member benefits and communication.
  • Ensure accurate implementation of the $6M+ annual food card contract, overseeing member enrollment and vendor communication.
  • Facilitate the development of new vendor partnerships as program needs evolve.
  • Maintain Salesforce as a reliable tool for member contacts and service tracking in partnership with the Director and Vice President.
  • Oversee operations for monthly virtual nutrition education classes, ensuring seamless technology and accurate reporting.
  • Support the maintenance and reporting of accurate program data and impact.
  • Manage the creation of timely and accurate invoices.
  • Supervise, coach, and develop a team of Program Associates.
  • Foster a culture of quality, accountability, and care among direct reports.
  • Lead special projects and cross-functional initiatives that advance program quality and organizational goals.
  • Participate in the annual Walk for Hunger, including working as event staff and attending pre-Walk events.
  • Participate in organization-wide events and meetings.
  • Act to promote, sustain, and grow Project Bread’s positive, productive, and inclusive working environment.
