About The Position

Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Senior Program Manager 3. This position will be located in Roy, Utah. This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package. The Flight Systems Futures operating unit within Strategic Deterrent Systems is seeking highly motivated talent to join a team at the forefront of next-generation hypersonic capabilities. Our team focuses on the design, development, and demonstration of hypersonic re-entry vehicles and advanced payloads, with an emphasis on rapid development and prototyping aligned to specific customer missions. We operate in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment where innovative concepts are matured quickly into credible, testable solutions that address our nation’s most demanding strategic deterrence needs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and 8 years of related experience, OR a Master’s degree and 6 years of related experience
  • Must be a U.S citizen and have an active U.S. Government DoD Top Secret security clearance within scope with an ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP)
  • At least 6 years of experience leading a Program / Projects and driving performance against a schedule.
  • Experience in project management/ execution and closeout
  • Experience with Earned Value Management (EV) in an applicable system

Responsibilities

  • Directing all phases of program from inception through completion
  • Responsibility for the cost, schedule and technical performance of tooling programs
  • Acting as customer contact for program activities, leading program review sessions with customer to discuss cost, schedule, and technical performance
  • Establishing milestones and monitors adherence to master plans and schedules, identifies program problems and obtains solutions, such as allocation of resources or changing contractual specifications
  • Directing the work of employees assigned to the program from technical, manufacturing and administrative areas
  • Collaborating across program and functional teams and ensure on-time execution
  • Identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks (e.g. technical, cost, schedule, legal, security) and maintaining risk register and ensuring corrective actions are tracked and closed
  • Strategically managing NCTA budgets (B&P and M&S) with financial rigor and predictability
