About The Position

This position is responsible for developing and monitoring the district's Annual and Multi-Year Highway Improvement Programs in an efficient and cost effective manner with due regards to the sensitivities of public needs and goals. In addition, this position oversees Geographic Information Systems (GIS) mapping assistance for district staff. The Illinois Department of Transportation is seeking to hire a Senior Program Analysis Engineer. Requirements

  • Current registration as a Licensed Professional Engineer in the state of Illinois OR current registration as a Licensed Structural Engineer in the state of Illinois.
  • Four years of experience in civil engineering.

Responsibilities

  • Assists in the development of the district’s Annual and Multi -Year Programs (MYP).
  • Coordinates the scoping activities and prepares programming cost estimates.
  • Coordinates data necessary to maintain up-to-date records in the Programming Planning System (PPS).
  • Coordinates the status of the annual and MYP data internally and with the Office of Planning and Programming.
  • Monitors the condition of the existing highway network and improvement needs.
  • Coordinates the oversight of district Geographic Information System (GIS) mapping projects.
  • Reviews preliminary and final plans to ensure that the project limits and the proposed improvements match the MYP.
  • Performs duties in compliance with departmental safety rules.
  • Performs all duties in a manner conducive to the fair and equitable treatment of all employees.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
