About The Position

Cenovus is seeking a Senior Production Lead for their Toledo refinery. The Production Lead is the primary point of contact for field production knowledge within a process unit complex. They are responsible for maintaining operational rigor by ensuring functional operations documentation, including Operations Rounds & Checklists, are up-to-date. Additionally, the Production Lead assists the Sr Operations Advisor with training new hires and cross-bid operators, both in the classroom and in the field. They possess the leadership skills to step in for and back up the Asset Operations Manager, providing stability to the Asset Team.

Requirements

Legally authorized to work in the US
High School Diploma or equivalent required
8+ years of related work history, including experience in operations in petrochemical or similar industry
Transferrable skills and equivalent combinations of experience and education may be considered.

Nice To Haves

Additional technical education or equivalent in engineering is desirable

Responsibilities

Reduce process safety risk through compliance and support of established work processes including safe work permits, procedures, operating limits, the MOC process, isolation plans, ORR’s, HAZOP, Self-Verification, and completion of action items.
Serve as SPA (Single Point Accountability) for the completion of PSM and other HSSE related action items assigned to the Operations Team, including those from incident investigations, PHAs, MOCs, PSSRs, and audits.
Investigate incidents and near-misses, including PSV lifts and SOL/SDL excursions.
Act as SPA for unit-specific Asset Team meetings, Operational Notes, and Asset Prioritization.
Develop guidance for planned outages in coordination with Process Engineers, Scheduling & Planning, and 24/7 Operations.
Ensure consistent and clear communication between the Asset team and the 24/7 team.
