About The Position

Mento is seeking a Product Marketing Manager to lead the product narrative, launch strategy, and adoption efforts for their AI-powered coaching platform. This is a hands-on, high-impact role in an early-stage company where the individual will define how Mento communicates its offerings to both HR/L&D leaders (buyers) and coaches/members (users). The role involves close collaboration with Product, Sales, Customer Success, Coaching, Design, and Growth teams to bring new features to market, equip customer-facing teams, refine positioning based on customer insights, and articulate the value of AI-enhanced human coaching. The ideal candidate is a strategic storyteller, a strong operator, and a customer-focused product marketer adept at creating structure in ambiguous environments, writing clearly, and balancing strategy with execution.

Requirements

  • 6-9 years of product marketing experience, ideally in B2B software, SaaS, HR tech, L&D, coaching, employee experience, or a related complex category.
  • Proven experience leading launches, building messaging from scratch, supporting sales-led go-to-market motions, and operating independently across strategy and execution.
  • Strong storytelling and clear writing skills with strong product intuition.
  • Ability to translate complex product capabilities, coaching methodology, buyer needs, and AI concepts into simple, credible, and compelling messaging.
  • Demonstrated track record of working cross-functionally and externally.
  • Customer-obsessed and data-informed approach, using qualitative and quantitative insights to inform decisions.
  • Highly cross-functional, enjoying collaboration across leadership levels and driving alignment without perfect processes.
  • Comfortable staying close to details in a fast-moving environment.
  • Thoughtful about AI, understanding its possibilities while recognizing the irreplaceable value of human judgment, trust, and connection.
  • Comfortable operating in an early-stage company environment, navigating ambiguity, managing up, asking for support, moving quickly, and building systems.
  • Excited to work closely with Co-CEO, excelling as both a strategist and an executor.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in HR tech, L&D, coaching, people development, or employee experience.
  • Curiosity about what makes coaching transformational and the ability to translate that into resonant product narratives.

Responsibilities

  • Own Mento’s product narrative, defining positioning and messaging for the AI-powered coaching platform, connecting coaching philosophy, AI capabilities, customer outcomes, and market differentiation.
  • Shape Mento's external communication about AI with nuance, clarity, and conviction, ensuring customers understand the ambitious, credible, and clear value proposition.
  • Lead launch planning for new product capabilities from strategy to execution, including messaging, internal readiness, customer education, external communications, enablement, and post-launch engagement.
  • Translate Mento’s methodology, member experience, and customer outcomes into compelling product stories, use cases, proof points, and customer-facing materials.
  • Create essential materials for customer-facing teams, including decks, talk tracks, one-pagers, FAQs, objection handling, demo narratives, competitive positioning, and enablement resources.
  • Drive adoption and expansion by connecting product value to customer, coach, and member benefits through use-case guides, ROI narratives, lifecycle messaging, and customer proof points.
  • Synthesize customer feedback, field insights, usage data, win/loss analysis, and competitive intelligence to refine positioning, identify adoption barriers, influence product strategy, and sharpen go-to-market strategies.
  • Partner with the Growth team on content and campaigns, setting audience, narrative, and strategic direction, and providing core messaging and source material.
  • Build repeatable AI-first PMM systems, including operating rhythms, templates, and processes for effective launches, learning, and communication as the company scales.
