About The Position

Mercer Advisors is hiring a Senior Product Manager to lead its estate planning product squad and rebuild estate planning delivery with AI. The role owns the product roadmap across the company’s eleven-step estate planning process, AI quality and accuracy, workflow visibility, and the day-to-day relationship with an external development partner. The position has executive sponsorship and works closely with Estate Planning leadership, engineering, design, data, Security, Compliance, and Legal. The product manager shares responsibility for business outcomes and has authority over what the squad builds, the order of work, and release readiness. The role spans the full estate planning journey, from gathering information through signed documents and ongoing plan updates. It involves identifying appropriate AI applications, evaluating AI capabilities before use, determining where human professionals remain involved, and protecting privileged and sensitive information. The product manager will make estate planning workflows visible to appropriate internal roles and clients, build on shared company platform capabilities, and coordinate delivery priorities and requirements with the development partner. The role is scheduled during standard business hours, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., with occasional early or late hours to meet business needs and deadlines. Work may be performed in a professional office or a dedicated home office workspace. The position involves routinely sitting and standing, with no heavy lifting over 10 pounds. Base pay is $136,000–$160,000, with eligibility for incentive compensation.

Requirements

At least 5 years of product management experience.
Evidence of shipping products that improved a business metric, including how the impact was measured.
Experience using AI in production to solve a real business problem and ability to discuss what failed or broke.
Experience shipping products in a domain where accuracy and compliance matter, with product design that accounts for the cost of errors.
Experience leading a cross-functional engineering, design, and data squad and directing an external development partner.
Ability to translate a complex, multi-step business process into requirements engineers can build from.
Experience with LLM evaluation and human-in-the-loop design, including building and running an evaluation set and changing a product based on its results.
Data fluency, including defining metrics, reading dashboards, and independently analyzing data to make decisions.
Strong communication skills and ability to earn the trust of engineers, strategists, and attorneys.
Bias toward action while maintaining quality.
Comfort with ambiguity and change in a live operating business.
Client-focused approach that starts with the needs of clients, advisors, and estate planning professionals.
Availability during standard business hours Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., with occasional early or late hours as needed.

Responsibilities

Own the estate planning product roadmap from discovery through delivery, covering information gathering, signed documents, and ongoing plan updates.
Make decisions about scope, sequencing, and tradeoffs.
Define success metrics, beginning with cycle time from intake to signed documents.
Lead squad planning, demos, and retrospectives, and ensure they are focused on outcomes and followed through.
Identify where AI can improve estate planning speed, clarity, and accuracy, and where it should not be used.
Decide what to automate and where strategists, attorneys, and paralegals should remain involved.
Own AI evaluations and understand the accuracy of each capability before it is used by staff.
Partner with Security, Compliance, and Legal to protect attorney-client privileged information and sensitive family data.
Use AI to improve personal and squad productivity.
Make estate planning work and each plan’s status visible to strategists, attorneys, paralegals, advisors, and clients, with views appropriate to each role.
Build on shared Mercer Advisors platform capabilities rather than creating one-off estate planning tools, and integrate the experience with the broader family office.
Set priorities and requirements for the external development partner.
Manage the day-to-day development partner relationship, keep delivery on track, surface risks early, and recommend responses to delays.
Ensure delivery stays aligned with agreed commitments.
Work with Estate Planning leadership and co-own business outcomes.
Lead a cross-functional squad spanning engineering, design, and data.
