InterSystems•Boston, MA
•$128,000 - $185,000

About The Position

InterSystems is seeking a Senior Product Manager to lead the strategy, roadmap, and Product Management team for its Lab Enterprise product line. The role shapes the evolution of enterprise laboratory capabilities, aligning product investment with customer needs, market opportunities, and the wider IntelliCare strategy. The manager works with laboratory subject matter experts, Product Development, and regional teams to translate complex clinical and operational needs into clear priorities and scalable product solutions. The position combines strategic product leadership with direct people management. It involves developing team capability, building cross-functional alignment, and making informed decisions when customer expectations, technical constraints, and strategic priorities compete. Laboratory or healthcare technology knowledge is valuable, but deep laboratory expertise is not essential; success depends on working effectively with specialists, evaluating evidence, and turning insights into clear product direction.

Requirements

  • 5–10 years of demonstrated experience in Product Management or a closely related role within healthcare technology, enterprise software, clinical informatics, laboratory systems, or another complex domain.
  • Proven experience leading and developing teams, including mentoring, performance management, recruitment, and capability development.
  • Strong product judgment and experience translating complex needs into strategy, priorities, and actionable roadmaps.
  • Strategic and systems thinking, including an understanding of dependencies across products, teams, and workflows.
  • Experience making prioritization decisions when customer expectations, strategic objectives, technical constraints, and resources compete.
  • Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills, including the ability to challenge constructively, negotiate, and communicate difficult decisions.
  • Ability to explain complex information clearly to technical, clinical, operational, and executive audiences.
  • Confident, collaborative leadership; listens carefully, seeks evidence, makes timely decisions with clear rationale, builds trust across disciplines and cultures, aligns stakeholders, and develops others.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in healthcare, laboratory medicine, diagnostics, laboratory information systems, electronic health records, or another regulated environment.
  • Experience working across international healthcare markets or enterprise software deployments.
  • Understanding of laboratory or healthcare technology; deep laboratory expertise is not essential.

Responsibilities

  • Define and communicate the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for InterSystems Lab Enterprise, aligned with wider IntelliCare priorities.
  • Set priorities and make timely investment and delivery decisions, balancing customer value, market needs, regulatory requirements, technical dependencies, and available capacity.
  • Work with laboratory subject matter experts to understand workflows and translate specialist requirements into scalable product capabilities.
  • Collaborate across IntelliCare product areas to support coherent end-to-end clinical and operational workflows.
  • Guide the Product Management team through development, validation, release, and adoption, focusing on intended outcomes.
  • Use customer feedback, market insights, support trends, and product performance to inform priorities and continuous improvement.
  • Lead and develop the Product Management team, including recruitment, mentoring, line management, and performance management.
  • Build a collaborative, accountable, outcome-focused team culture with clear responsibilities and expectations.
  • Strengthen team capability and empower individuals to exercise sound judgment, develop expertise, and take increasing ownership.
  • Build partnerships with Product Development, UX, Clinical Safety, regional teams, Implementation, Support, Marketing, and other relevant functions.
  • Connect Product Development with regional and customer-facing teams so market needs and operational challenges inform product decisions.
  • Engage regional teams and customers to understand recurring challenges, market differences, and opportunities for improvement.
