About The Position

Procore is seeking a Senior Product Manager to address the significant challenge of managing its vast observability footprint and associated costs. This role involves leading a dual-track strategy focused on efficiency (optimizing multi-million dollar spend) and architecture (building the next generation of a self-service observability platform). The Senior Product Manager will act as the key liaison between Engineering, Product, Finance, and vendors to ensure data ingestion provides measurable business value. The position reports to a Group Product Manager and is based in Austin, TX, with an immediate start date.

Requirements

5+ Years in Technical Product Management, with experience managing infrastructure, platform, or developer tools at SaaS scale.
Understanding of cloud billing, unit economics, and marginal cost.
Deep familiarity with the OpenTelemetry ecosystem, Kubernetes, and modern monitoring stacks.
Proven track record of convincing engineering teams to change habits using data-backed ROI.
Expertise in SQL, Grafana, or Tableau for building dashboards.

Responsibilities

Develop systems to attribute observability spend down to the team and feature level.
Lead initiatives to optimize data retention and ingestion, deciding on storage tiers (hot vs. cold logs).
Serve as the technical lead for contract renewals with observability partners, using data for negotiations.
Identify and execute efficiency programs for immediate cost savings.
Drive the transition to vendor-neutral standards like OpenTelemetry (OTel) to bake cost-efficiency into instrumentation.
Define and deliver cost-limiting features within the platform to prevent accidental spend spikes.
Conduct discovery to build tooling that makes debugging faster for internal developers, reducing Mean Time to Recovery (MTTR).
Partner with Infrastructure Architects to determine 'Buy' vs. 'Build' strategies for observability solutions.
