About The Position

The AWS Energy & Utilities AI Products team is seeking a Senior Product Manager to leverage AI for transforming grid planning and interconnection study processes within the global utility industry. This role requires bridging domain expertise in power systems or energy technology with product strategy to manage an AI product area from customer discovery through launch. The Senior Product Manager will collaborate with utility customers and integration partners to define AI product requirements, work with engineering leads on scope and delivery trade-offs, and drive go-to-market planning. This is a position within a small, collaborative team where the individual will own a significant part of the AI product from the outset.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
  • 5+ years of technical product management experience
  • 3+ years of experience in electric utility, grid software, power systems, or adjacent energy technology (as a product manager, engineer, or planner)
  • 5+ years of experience taking products from concept through engineering design to launch
  • 5+ years of experience writing product requirements documents and customer-facing technical documentation
  • Experience delivering enterprise SaaS products with direct customer engagement

Nice To Haves

  • MBA or advanced degree in business, management, or a related field
  • Advanced degree in electrical engineering
  • Experience with industry-standard power systems planning and simulation software
  • Experience with transmission planning, interconnection studies, or distribution engineering workflows

Responsibilities

  • Own product requirements and roadmap, from customer discovery through launch
  • Partner with utility customers (transmission and distribution planning teams) to understand their workflows and translate them into prioritized engineering specifications
  • Collaborate with engineering leads on trade-offs in scope, architecture, and delivery timelines
  • Drive integration requirements with independent software vendor partners
  • Lead go-to-market planning including pricing, positioning, customer onboarding, and sales enablement
