About The Position

The Senior Product Manager, SMB Internet Portfolio will develop and execute a strategic, data-driven product roadmap for TELUS Business' Fibre and Copper Internet services — the core connectivity products that power thousands of Canadian small and medium businesses. This role owns the strategy, lifecycle, and performance of a critical connectivity portfolio that directly impacts how SMB customers run and grow their businesses. The role requires a product leader who is comfortable operating in ambiguity, solving complex business problems, building high-conviction business cases, and influencing teams across the organization. The position will leverage AI, automation, and data-driven insights to improve portfolio management, identify opportunities, and create better customer and team member experiences. The role reports to the Manager, Product & Services and involves leading cross-functional project teams and presenting strategic recommendations to the Leadership Team, partnering across Product, Sales, Marketing, Finance, Operations, Systems, and Engineering.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of product management or product strategy experience, including significant experience managing enterprise or B2B technology products, infrastructure products, or connectivity services.
  • Proven experience managing a complete product portfolio with accountability for roadmap, lifecycle, performance, customer experience, and commercial outcomes.
  • Demonstrated ability to build business cases, manage investment planning, assess financial impacts, and make data-driven recommendations.
  • Experience leading cross-functional initiatives across Product, Sales, Marketing, Finance, Operations, Systems, and Engineering teams.
  • Strong product strategy and roadmap development skills.
  • Deep customer-centric mindset with experience using customer insights, discovery, feedback loops, and performance data to shape product direction.
  • Ability to balance short-term business needs with long-term strategic objectives.
  • Demonstrated success breaking down complex, ambiguous issues and turning them into clear options, recommendations, and action plans.
  • Strong analytical skills and deep financial acumen; comfortable using performance data, customer insights, market trends, and financial models to guide decisions.
  • Experience managing product performance and commercial outcomes.
  • Understanding of capital planning, forecasting, and ROI analysis.
  • Ability to translate data and financial insights into strategic recommendations.
  • Strong influencing skills with the ability to manage up and sideways, align stakeholders, and make strategic trade-off decisions.
  • Experienced communicator with the ability to create executive-level presentations and simplify complex product, technical, and financial topics.
  • Ability to operate with ownership, urgency, and sound judgment in a fast-moving environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor and develop junior product managers.
  • Demonstrated experience using AI tools (e.g., Google Suite, Performance, data analytics platforms) to support product research, decision-making, or customer problem-solving.
  • Comfortable experimenting with emerging technologies and evaluating business applications of AI and automation.
  • Strategic mindset with a passion for innovation, product-led thinking, and continuous improvement.

Nice To Haves

  • Telecommunications background a plus but not required if you have strong product experience managing complex B2B services.
  • Experience with capital planning, annual planning, forecasting, or benefits realization.
  • Experience launching new products, offers, capabilities, or customer journeys.
  • Experience with pricing strategy or market analysis in B2B or connectivity services.
  • MBA or equivalent business, strategy, or technology experience.

Responsibilities

  • Take end-to-end accountability for the Fibre and Copper Internet portfolio, including strategy, roadmap, lifecycle, and performance.
  • Develop and execute a data-driven product roadmap that supports customer growth, revenue performance, profitability, retention, and long-term portfolio evolution.
  • Own product performance reporting across key metrics (sales, revenue, churn, customer adoption, customer experience, operational performance, capital realization).
  • Drive product lifecycle management activities, including offer simplification, base management, migrations, pricing changes, legacy product decisions, and portfolio modernization.
  • Own the strategic positioning and competitiveness of the portfolio in the SMB market.
  • Identify, evaluate, and launch new products, services, and capabilities that create customer value and support TELUS' growth objectives.
  • Build strong business cases and capital investment proposals, including market sizing, financial analysis, ROI, risks, dependencies, and success metrics.
  • Use market analytics, customer insights, performance data, and competitive intelligence to identify growth opportunities, portfolio gaps, and product improvement areas.
  • Lead new service development initiatives from opportunity identification through business case, funding, requirements, launch, adoption, and post-launch performance management.
  • Leverage AI, automation, and advanced data insights to improve product decision-making and identify emerging opportunities.
  • Translate complex business and technical insights into clear product strategies and actionable recommendations.
  • Analyze customer, operational, financial, and market data to guide strategic decisions.
  • Identify growth opportunities, performance gaps, and product improvement areas.
  • Develop high-conviction recommendations backed by evidence and presented in executive-ready narratives.
  • Champion a culture of disciplined prioritization and measurable outcomes.
  • Partner with Sales, Marketing, GTM, Pricing, Finance, Operations, Systems, and Engineering teams to launch and optimize offers, capabilities, and customer experiences.
  • Lead cross-functional teams through ambiguous and complex problems, turning unclear business needs into actionable plans and decisions.
  • Refine positioning, messaging, enablement, and channel readiness for SMB connectivity products in partnership with Marketing and Sales.
  • Interlock with technical and systems teams to influence product capabilities, operational improvements, and future roadmap priorities.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, providing clear recommendations and thoughtful trade-off decisions.
  • Develop strong influencing skills — managing up and sideways to align stakeholders on strategic priorities.
  • Champion customer-backed decisions and evidence-based problem solving across teams.
  • Mentor and support junior product managers by sharing product practices, portfolio knowledge, and structured approaches to problem solving.
  • Stay ahead of evolving SMB customer needs, telecom market trends, competitor movements, and technology shifts.
