About The Position

Nordstrom is looking for a Senior Product Manager to own and drive the product strategy for our Inventory Ordering capabilities. This is a high-impact role for a self-starter who takes initiative, identifies opportunities without being prompted, and drives work forward from discovery through delivery, partnering with leadership on prioritization and strategic alignment along the way. This role will be specifically responsible for driving the Order Creation & Management capability. Owning the product roadmap to automate Purchase Order creation and enable intelligent, exception-managed workflows. You will partner closely with engineering, process, and business teams to execute across three interconnected sub-capabilities: Ordering Workflow, Vendor Collaboration, and Order Decisioning. A day in the life... Product Strategy & Vision – Partner with leadership to drive the roadmap for Order Creation & Management, balancing near-term automation wins with long-term transformation. Own the vision for exception-managed, intelligent ordering workflows with stakeholders across Merchandising, Supply Chain, and Engineering. Continuous Discovery & Insights – Monitor KPI performance across the ordering lifecycle. Stay current on industry standards and emerging capabilities to identify opportunities for further automation and simplification. Prioritization & Planning – Own the product backlog and drive quarterly planning, sequencing workstreams in alignment with business priorities and engineering capacity. Definition & Decomposition – Write requirements inclusive of process flows, user stories, business rules, and acceptance criteria for merchandise inventory ordering capabilities. Collaboration & Influence – Partner cross-functionally with Merchandising, Supply Chain Operations, and Engineering to translate business needs into clear product requirements. Align stakeholders across teams on sequencing, scope, and trade-offs. Drive Impact – Own outcomes, not just tasks. Hold yourself accountable for the results your product delivers, not just the features you shipped.

Requirements

  • 6+ years in the product management discipline
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience
  • Proven track record of managing all aspects of a successful product throughout its lifecycle, from strategy and roadmap definition through launch and adoption
  • Ability to partner effectively to define, measure, and analyze processes to identify improvement and automation opportunities
  • Technical background and understanding of software development principles
  • Experience defining and tracking KPIs, using data and metrics to drive prioritization decisions and measure business impact
  • Ability to explain complex technical material clearly to users with varying levels of proficiency
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including presenting to stakeholders and leadership
  • Outstanding organizational and time management skills with the ability to operate in ambiguous, fast-paced environments

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in retail, e-commerce, omnichannel, or supply chain environments
  • Knowledge of purchase order management systems, EDI standards, or inventory planning systems
  • Understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies and product development best practices
  • Hands-on experience with AI and machine learning applications, particularly in the context of automation, decisioning, or workflow optimization
  • Comfort with SQL or data analysis tools
