About The Position

Condé Nast is seeking a Sr. Product Manager to lead digital product for GQ and Pitchfork. This role requires a deep understanding of these brands, a passion for shaping digital experiences through experimentation and data, and an AI-native approach. The ideal candidate will move quickly from idea to prototype to test to ship, leveraging AI tools to create innovative features. This position is based in New York, NY.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of product management experience in digital media, publishing, or consumer-facing products.
  • A genuine fan of GQ and Pitchfork, with a deep understanding of their brands, voices, and audiences.
  • Fluency in experimentation, including designing valid tests, interpreting results, and driving decisions from data.
  • Strong product analytics skills, including experience with data tracking tools, funnel analysis, cohort analysis, and building measurement instrumentation.
  • A prototyper's instinct, with experience using tools like Figma, no-code tools, or AI tools to make ideas tangible.
  • AI-native orientation, with experience using AI in daily work and shipping AI-powered features.
  • Experience with men's lifestyle, fashion, culture, or music products.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple brands or product areas simultaneously without sacrificing quality.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Comfort working across time zones and functions.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree.

Responsibilities

  • Own the product strategy and roadmap for GQ and Pitchfork's digital experiences (web and future platforms).
  • Develop a deep understanding of each brand's unique product opportunities: GQ's intersection of style, culture, and commerce; Pitchfork's role in music discovery and criticism.
  • Manage and evolve Pitchfork's paywall strategy, focusing on subscriber growth without compromising cultural reach.
  • Develop and execute GQ's commercial product strategy, building trust-based shopping and discovery experiences.
  • Own the experimentation program for both brands, including designing, running, and analyzing A/B and multivariate tests.
  • Define key metrics for engagement, retention, conversion, content interaction, and brand-specific KPIs.
  • Foster a culture of hypothesis-driven development grounded in data and structured testing.
  • Pull, interpret, and visualize data; set up dashboards and instrumentation for measurement.
  • Translate quantitative signals and qualitative user research into clear product direction for editorial and senior stakeholders.
  • Utilize low- and high-fidelity prototypes to test ideas before committing engineering resources.
  • Leverage AI tools to accelerate prototyping and develop AI-powered experiences (e.g., personalized editorial, AI-assisted recommendations, smart search).
  • Stay at the forefront of AI in media, assessing opportunities for build, buy, or partner strategies.
  • Embrace iterative shipping, relentless measurement, and continuous improvement.
  • Build trust-based partnerships with editorial teams, understanding their creative process and amplifying their work through product.
  • Act as a liaison between editorial vision and technical execution, translating fluently in both directions.
  • Co-develop product experiences that align with each brand's voice and sensibility.
  • Drive product prioritization within a 0-9 month horizon, balancing short-term delivery with long-term strategy.
  • Lead cross-functional teams (editorial, design, engineering, project management) to ship impactful features.
  • Convert business objectives into clear development plans and ensure delivery.
  • Define and refine OKRs for the product area and manage agile ceremonies.
  • Align senior stakeholders to the product roadmap, communicating updates, blockers, and decisions proactively.
  • Write product briefs and gain buy-in on new approaches.
  • Own all product documentation, including strategy, status, and decisions.
