About The Position

Anduril Industries is a defense technology company with a mission to transform U.S. and allied military capabilities with advanced technology. By bringing the expertise, technology, and business model of the 21st century’s most innovative companies to the defense industry, Anduril is changing how military systems are designed, built and sold. Anduril’s family of systems is powered by Lattice OS, an AI-powered operating system that turns thousands of data streams into a realtime, 3D command and control center. As the world enters an era of strategic competition, Anduril is committed to bringing cutting-edge autonomy, AI, computer vision, sensor fusion, and networking technology to the military in months, not years. Arsenal is Anduril's mission to rebuild the arsenal and to hyper-scale manufacturing - the shared foundation our platforms are built on. ArsenalOS is how we turn blueprints into real production capability: the software layer that brings the speed, precision, and adaptability of modern software to industrial and defense manufacturing. The factory is the weapon. We're seeking a Senior Product Designer to join ArsenalOS Design. This is a generalist seat on the design team. You will serve wherever ArsenalOS needs design most. Right now we need an execution-minded designer to serve supply chain and supplier experience. Building the experiences that ensure our customers get the very best, and the external hub for anyone who wants to supply Anduril's manufacturing. You'll produce high-quality work at speed, validating ideas quickly and building momentum wherever the team's priorities point next.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of software design experience
  • You meet the Senior Product Designer on Anduril standards - proficient across Craft & Execution, Impact, Strategy, and Influence/Leadership, operating at product-level and business-line scope
  • High attention to detail and mastery of visual & interaction design craft
  • Comfortable designing by building - runnable prototypes in a real codebase (branches built from our AOS design system)
  • Online portfolio demonstrating multimodal experiences
  • Ability to clearly articulate the why, process, and impact of your work
  • Must be able to travel once a quarter to our production lines
  • Strong skills in visual design, interaction design with micro-interactions and animations
  • Proficiency in creating scalable components for various devices and environments
  • Experience developing and implementing design systems
  • Comfort with on-site research and understanding of manufacturing and production environments

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with hardware-related industries, such as supply chain, manufacturing, or logistics
  • Advanced knowledge of visual design principles, including layout, color theory, typography, and Gestalt principles
  • Understanding of design systems and how to actively build, enhance, and promote use of said system
  • Prior exposure to workflow creation tools (a plus would be for quality, supplier-facing, or non-conformance workflows)
  • Background in user research (UXR), or a hybrid UR/UX skill set, is a strength we're actively looking to add to the design team (a plus here, not a requirement)
  • Execution mindset. In this season of the team we must build at speed. If you are a Strategy/UXR person who cannot execute with mocks, this is not the position for you.

Responsibilities

  • Design intuitive interfaces that connect technical systems and business functions, improving process efficiency, evaluation, and reporting
  • Own information architecture, flows, and a lightweight design PRDs before implementation begins.
  • Judge experience, whether a problem calls for new craft or for reuse. Extending an existing ArsenalOS pattern, borrowing a primitive from elsewhere in the system, in service of one coherent product rather than a patchwork of team-local UIs
  • Rapidly iterate and prototype, with strong visual and interaction craft
  • Own all aspects of design execution from discovery through implementation and support
  • Collaborate directly with cross-functional teams - PMs, engineering, supply chain - to understand their workflows and translate complex processes into intuitive interfaces
  • Partner with Design Leads while exercising appropriate autonomy in your daily work, making decisions quickly to maintain momentum
  • Balance immediate tactical solutions that address urgent business needs while contributing to long-term design impact and value
  • Create scalable components that work across device types, considering the unique environments where our technology operates
  • Engage in contextual research by visiting operational environments to gain firsthand understanding of user needs and processes
  • Communicate design decisions effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, bringing them along in your process
  • Collaborate with other designers across multiple verticals to maintain consistency and share best practices, working in the open to ensure cross-functional awareness

Benefits

  • Highly competitive equity grants are included in the majority of full time offers; and are considered part of Anduril's total compensation package.
  • Comprehensive, competitive benefits package (available at little to no cost to employees) ensures you’re supported in health, recovery, and whatever comes next.
