Senior Product Designer - New Bets

DoorDash USASan Francisco, NY
$124,400 - $260,000Hybrid

About The Position

The New Bets group at DoorDash explores how the company can support dining beyond delivery and beyond the home, focusing on areas like pickup, reservations, and dine-in experiences. This team is pioneering the future of how people interact with food and restaurants through hybrid physical/digital experiences. As a Senior Product Designer, you will be a foundational member of this innovative team, defining and shaping entirely new customer experiences that connect people with dining in non-traditional contexts. This role involves helping customers skip the line for a dine-in experience, reserve a table and pre-order, or discover new local gems for pickup, ultimately unlocking value far beyond the doorstep. The position is open for candidates in San Francisco, Sunnyvale, Seattle, or New York and will report to the Sr. Design Manager of New Bets within the Consumer design organization. This role follows a hybrid work model, blending in-office and remote collaboration.

Requirements

  • A portfolio that shows projects that demonstrate craft excellence, systems thinking, and leadership through influence.
  • Reach for code editors and LLM-powered tools as naturally as design tools, prototyping in production and contributing meaningfully to the codebase.
  • Influence, design, and build solutions that work across teams and workflows.
  • Enjoy navigating unclear problems across multiple teams and create clarity through shipped artifacts, not slide decks.
  • A background in high-growth consumer tech or complex marketplace products.

Responsibilities

  • Spot problems worth solving and make the case for them — write a clear brief, frame the customer needs alongside the business opportunity, and get it on your team's roadmap.
  • Own projects from first concept to shipped product — design the flows, write the copy, and work with engineering to launch, rather than handing off a spec and moving on.
  • Design with the system and extend when needed, and leave clear documentation so the team can build on what you've made.
  • Use AI tools to get from idea to working prototype fast, then iterate in code instead of static mocks.
  • Partner with engineers to move your work into production — not just a pitch deck.
  • Build real relationships with your PM, engineering, and data partners by showing up with evidence and shipped work, not just opinions.
  • Help junior designers grow their craft while keeping your own bar high.
