Senior Product Designer - New Bets

DoorDash USASeattle, WA
Hybrid

About The Position

At DoorDash, design means making experiences for the people who order, the people who prepare, and the people who deliver. The New Bets group explores how DoorDash can support dining beyond delivery and beyond the home—think pickup, reservations, dine-in experiences, and more. This team is pioneering the future of how people interact with food and restaurants through hybrid physical/digital experiences. As a Designer at DoorDash, you want to build things that matter to real people. You're at your best when you can move from idea to shipped product quickly, bringing experiences to life that reach and influence users at massive scale. You'll care about whether the product you make solved a real problem for real people, or changed how someone experiences their day. You'll work shoulder-to-shoulder with Engineering and Product Management, dig into the data, and use LLM-powered tools alongside traditional design tools. If the LLM powered tools don’t exist yet, you build them. As a Senior Product Designer, you will be a foundational member of our innovative New Bets team. You will have the unique opportunity to define and shape entirely new customer experiences that connect people with dining in non-traditional contexts. Whether it’s helping customers skip the line for a dine-in experience, reserve a table and pre-order, or discover new local gems for pickup, you'll help DoorDash unlock value far beyond the doorstep. This position is open for candidates in San Francisco, Sunnyvale, Seattle, or New York and will report to the Sr. Design Manager of New Bets within our Consumer design organization. This role follows a hybrid work model, blending in-office and remote collaboration.

Requirements

  • You have a portfolio that shows projects that demonstrate craft excellence, systems thinking, and leadership through influence
  • You reach for code editors and LLM-powered tools as naturally as design tools, prototyping in production and contributing meaningfully to the codebase
  • You influence, design, and build solutions that work across teams and workflows
  • You enjoy navigating unclear problems across multiple teams and create clarity through shipped artifacts, not slide decks
  • You have a background in high-growth consumer tech or complex marketplace products

Responsibilities

  • Spot problems worth solving and make the case for them — write a clear brief, frame the customer needs alongside the business opportunity, and get it on your team's roadmap.
  • Own projects from first concept to shipped product — design the flows, write the copy, and work with engineering to launch, rather than handing off a spec and moving on.
  • Design with the system and extend when needed, and leave clear documentation so the team can build on what you've made.
  • Use AI tools to get from idea to working prototype fast, then iterate in code instead of static mocks. Partner with engineers to move your work into production — not just a pitch deck.
  • Build real relationships with your PM, engineering, and data partners by showing up with evidence and shipped work, not just opinions.
  • Help junior designers grow their craft while keeping your own bar high.
