Senior Product Designer
About The Position
As a Senior Product Designer at vCluster Labs, you will shape how engineers experience the vCluster Platform. You will partner closely with frontend engineers to turn ambiguous, deeply technical problems into clear, usable interfaces, while working with backend engineering to understand technical feasibility. The role spans product and UI design from early concepts through pixel-perfect execution, research into technical requirements and proposed solutions, stakeholder alignment on design direction, and coordination with Brand Designers to maintain visual consistency with the company’s brand.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of experience designing UI or product experiences for a B2B product, ideally one used by engineers, DevOps, or platform teams.
- Ability to understand complex software engineering concepts through research, interest in the field, or personal experience.
- A user-centric approach, with the ability to understand users and their specific needs.
- Good visual design sense and ability to create clear, aesthetically pleasing interfaces aligned with modern UI patterns.
- Willingness to learn technical subject matter through reading documentation and independent experimentation.
- Strong communication skills, including presenting clearly, defending design decisions to stakeholders, and questioning assumptions when it may lead to a better solution.
Nice To Haves
- Experience designing for a cloud provider, DevOps tool, Kubernetes, or another engineer-facing infrastructure product.
- Experience at an early-stage organization, working autonomously toward building something great.
Responsibilities
- Design and deliver polished UI for the vCluster Platform, from early concept through pixel-perfect execution.
- Work day-to-day with frontend engineers to scope and execute product design work.
- Stay close to backend engineering to understand what is technically feasible.
- Research technical requirements and proposed solutions using UX studies, competitive research, and other methods to understand their impact on the user experience.
- Collaborate with product and engineering leadership to translate ambiguous requirements into a clear design direction.
- Work with Brand Designers to keep product visuals aligned with vCluster Labs' brand identity.
