About The Position

The Amex Digital Labs team originates, incubates, and manages products and platforms that are important to customers’ digital lives. The team uses emerging technologies to develop digital payment and financial services products and Membership experiences, often in collaboration with technology companies and strategic partners. As a hands-on product designer within Digital Labs, this role champions AI-enabled product design. It combines strong UX, UI, and visual design craft with strategic partnership across Product and Engineering to identify opportunities, shape product direction, and deliver new experiences. The designer uses AI-assisted tools and agentic workflows to accelerate exploration, prototyping, and delivery, moving from ambiguity to a clear design direction while balancing speed, quality, and impact. The role leads end-to-end product design and helps shape future AI-powered Membership experiences, including conversational interfaces, intelligent recommendations, and agentic experiences. It works directly with Engineers to connect design and code, use working prototypes and reusable components, and improve collaboration from idea to working product. American Express offers a flexible enterprise working model; onsite, hybrid, or fully virtual arrangements depend on the role and business needs. Employment eligibility to work in the United States is required; the company will not pursue visa sponsorship for this position.
