About The Position

Avantos AI is building an AI-native operating system for financial services to help firms onboard clients, deliver advice, and manage servicing workflows. The Senior Product Designer will own the Avantos Mobile App and Journey Builder end-to-end, shaping two key surfaces of the platform. The role requires a strong product generalist with native mobile expertise who can make decisions across mobile and web experiences and deliver polished work amid ambiguity.

The designer will partner closely with mobile engineering on native platform patterns and with engineering on Journey Builder’s flow logic and step-orchestration patterns. They will help determine where mobile and web experiences should share patterns or diverge, contribute patterns to the design system with the Principal Designer, conduct lightweight user research, and help shape the practices and craft of a growing design team. The team prototypes in code, builds AI tooling, and continuously adapts its design process.

Requirements

• At least 4 years of product design experience, including substantial native mobile experience on iOS, Android, or both; responsive web experience with occasional mobile work is not sufficient.
• Ability to work as a product generalist, own two adjacent surfaces, and switch between mobile interaction and web orchestration problems.
• Strong knowledge of platform-specific patterns, including iOS Human Interface Guidelines and Material Design, and judgment about when to depart from them.
• Expertise in Figma and design systems, including translating patterns across platforms while preserving a native feel.
• Track record of owning product surfaces end-to-end through ambiguity and iteration.
• Comfort prototyping in code and with AI, and genuine curiosity about how AI is changing design and development.

Nice To Haves

• Fluency in B2B SaaS or fintech complexity; financial services experience is welcome but not required.
• Experience at consumer-grade mobile companies with a high bar for interaction craft.
• Experience designing AI-native or agentic features and rethinking familiar patterns around them.
• Experience designing workflow, automation, or orchestration tools.
• Previous experience on a small team or at a startup, with a scrappy, ownership-driven approach.

Responsibilities

• Own the Avantos Mobile App end-to-end and partner with mobile engineering on native platform patterns.
• Own Journey Builder end-to-end and partner with engineering on flow logic and step-orchestration patterns.
• Make decisions about when mobile and web experiences should share patterns and when they should diverge.
• Contribute mobile-specific and journey-orchestration patterns to the design system in partnership with the Principal Designer.
• Run lightweight user research as part of the design process.
• Help shape the culture, craft, and rituals of a growing design team.
