About The Position

Pennylane is seeking a Senior Product Analyst to join their Science & Analytics team. This role is crucial for helping Product teams understand user behavior, identify opportunities, and make data-driven roadmap decisions. The ideal candidate will be a proactive and autonomous individual who thrives in a trust-based work environment. Requirements

  • Previous experience as a Product Analyst or Data Analyst working closely with Product teams, ideally in scale-up environments (5-6 years).
  • Seasoned working with SQL, DBT and data visualization tools.
  • Strong experience with product analytics tools such as Amplitude or similar event-based analytics platforms.
  • Comfortable collaborating with Product Managers, Designers, and engineering partners.
  • Strong product and business acumen.
  • Ability to connect user behavior, product usage, and business impact into clear strategic recommendations.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to articulate ideas clearly.
  • Fluent in English.

Responsibilities

  • Help Product teams deeply understand user behaviors across Pennylane’s frontend experiences using tools like Amplitude and their data warehouse.
  • Identify adoption patterns, friction points, opportunities, and risks.
  • Turn behavioral data into clear, strategic insights to guide Product leaders on what to build, improve, simplify, or stop.
  • Act as a sparring partner for Product leaders, anticipating questions, framing analyses, and translating findings into product roadmap recommendations.
  • Contribute to developing a stronger product measurement mindset across Product, Design, Engineering, and Data.
  • Help teams define success metrics, clarify measurement needs, and integrate measurement earlier in the product development process.
  • Partner with relevant owners on tracking and implementation to ensure measurement choices are pragmatic, actionable, and connected to product decisions.
  • Contribute to the self-service approach to analytics by understanding Product partners’ needs and promoting a data-driven culture.
  • Contribute directly to data models in the data warehouse (using dbt) used by Product teams.
