CBC News Podcasts and Audio is looking for an Alberta-based Senior Producer with experience in news, political coverage, podcasting and broadcasting. This position will support West of Centre, and requires advanced knowledge of Alberta politics as it fits within the national political context, as well as team leadership experience, podcast, radio and audio production and development skills, and the ability to collaborate with cross functional teams across the CBC news ecosystem. The work is key to the CBC News Podcasts & Audio’s mission – to create and amplify CBC’s journalism in the audio space. This is a 12-month position, which can be based in either Calgary or Edmonton, which will entail full time work, Monday to Friday, and primarily daytime hours but with flexibility required for working with team members coast-to-coast, and to respond to breaking news developments. We work with CBC News teams across the country to help support local always-on podcasts, network audio, radio and video teams with a presence in digital audio, and to create and develop original news podcasts and programming for Canadian audiences. We work in deep collaboration with all CBC Newsrooms, CBC News Audience Growth Department, and the CBC Podcast Audience Growth Hub to create audience-first content, and build best practices and skills around digital audio and audience growth throughout all of CBC’s news teams.
