About The Position

The Senior Procurement Engineer develops and industrializes the supply base, drives Product Cost Roadmaps (PCRs), and executes Design for eXcellence (DfX) analyses and value-creation to optimize cost, quality, and risk. This role involves owning and managing product roadmaps (BOM cost reduction, component de-risking, and overall Procurement strategy), developing and implementing cost-saving strategies to optimize product cost and manufacturability, and using DfX methodology to improve cost, quality, manufacturability, value, and risk. The Senior Procurement Engineer will represent the site procurement function in cross-functional teams and external negotiations, effectively communicating procurement strategies, cost considerations, and project updates to stakeholders.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in supply chain management, engineering operations, research and development, quality, mechanical engineering or equivalent.
  • Skills include cost engineering, DfX methodology, supplier relationship management, business acumen, lean methodologies, and manufacturing procedures
  • Bachelor's/ Master's Degree in Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Operations, Business or equivalent.
  • Must be able to successfully perform the following minimum Physical, Cognitive and Environmental job requirements with or without accommodation for this position.
  • Driven to provide meaningful business results, motivated by improving patients' lives and can multitask on priorities
  • US work authorization is a precondition of employment. The company will not consider candidates who require sponsorship for a work-authorized visa, now or in the future.
  • Must reside in or within commuting distance to San Diego, CA.

Nice To Haves

  • 5+ years of experience preferred.
