Senior Engineer I, Procurement
About The Position
This role involves working as a Subject Matter Expert in the Power Supply Category, guiding the engineering development team on manufacturability challenges and supplier selections for electrical power category items. The position focuses on meeting total cost of ownership, functionality, reliability, and time to market. It also includes leading procurement and sourcing for Thermocompression bonding machine items, analyzing lead times, negotiating supplier pricing and terms, managing procurement quotes, and participating in meetings to identify technological solutions within the supply chain. The role emphasizes developing value-added supplier relationships, managing cost roadmaps, and automating repetitive tasks using AI and Python programming.
Requirements
- Experience in Power design for semiconductor equipment
- Experience reviewing and negotiating supplier pricing, terms and conditions and exceptions to mitigate risks
- Experience managing procurement quotes and documents, updating cost databases, analyzing lead times, identifying critical paths and prioritizing demand requirements
- Experience building strong value-added relationships with suppliers and fellow team members
- Experience managing cost roadmaps and cost rollup spreadsheets
- Experience in developing should cost on electromechanical assemblies
- Experience working with geometric tolerances
- Experience with cost reduction and lead time reduction with complex assembly suppliers
- Experience with data analysis using Python and Excel
- Experience with data visualization tools e.g. Tableau, Plotly, Power BI
- Python
- Experience working with overseas suppliers
- Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Industrial Engineering, Systems Engineering or related field
- At least two years of experience as a Procurement Engineer, Manufacturing Engineer or related occupation
Responsibilities
- Work as Subject Matter Expert in Power Supply Category and guide engineering development team on manufacturability challenges, supplier selections for electrical power category items to meet total cost of ownership, functionality, reliability and time to market
- Lead Procurement and sourcing of Thermocompression bonding machine’s items to meet Time to Market, Maximizing profitability, Minimizing Working Capital, and Quality of the machine to the answer product by selecting right suppliers, right home plant
- Work in connection with factory staff at the K&S manufacturing facility in Singapore to analyze lead times for products, components, and systems, as well as identify critical paths, and prioritize demand requirements for this facility and other facilities as needed
- Review and negotiate supplier pricing, terms/conditions, and exceptions to mitigate risks and ensure the effective procurement of components/materials in a manner which ensures that budget/price goals are met, and that there is a timely delivery of appropriate components
- Manage procurement quotes and related documents, as well as update cost databases to ensure that our Company’s equipment, technical, and operational needs are communicated to existing or prospective suppliers, as well as evaluating received supplier quotes on cost, feasibility, and suitability
- Participate in regular meetings in order to identify and act upon technological solutions to development /operational needs within the supply chain and evaluate prospective solutions to identified issues and related needs
- Develop and maintain value-added relationships with suppliers and fellow K&S team members from varied operational areas, with the aim of ensuring that all stakeholders are apprised of relevant needs and operational concerns and that manufacturing operations are appropriately and effectively supported by our sourcing operations
- Manage cost roadmaps and cost rollup dashboards, developing cost reduction pipeline with should cost analysis, fair market price analysis and low-cost country sourcing approaches
- Automate repetitive task in new product development supply chain with AI and Python programing
