About The Position
CRB is seeking a Senior Process Engineer with deep expertise in liquid processing systems within the food and beverage industry. The role leads the design and execution of process systems for liquid products such as beverages, dairy, sauces, and other fluid-based consumables. The engineer manages the scope, schedule, and budget of assigned systems or unit operations and collaborates with clients, vendors, internal teams, and construction partners to deliver high-quality, innovative solutions. The position can be hybrid and involves up to 50% travel.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Mechanical, or Process Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
- At least 5 years of process engineering experience with liquid food or beverage systems, specifically in confectionary, pet food, fermentation, dairy, dressings, and sauces.
- Strong understanding of sanitary design, CIP systems, and fluid handling equipment.
- Excellent communication and project coordination skills.
- Familiarity with industry codes and regulatory standards such as FDA, USDA, and 3-A.
Nice To Haves
- PE or EIT certification.
- Experience with construction support, including RFIs, submittals, and punch lists.
- Hands-on experience commissioning and troubleshooting liquid process systems.
- Knowledge of automation and control systems for liquid processes.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design and development of liquid processing systems for food and beverage manufacturing facilities.
- Translate client requirements into process design scope and deliverables.
- Manage and coordinate with internal teams, clients, vendors, and construction partners.
- Oversee technical deliverables, including P&IDs, mass and energy balances, equipment specifications, and process narratives.
- Manage vendor packages and conduct technical bid evaluations.
- Support and lead Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT).
- Support and lead risk assessments, including HAZOP and HACCP.
- Support and lead 3D model reviews and coordination.
- Provide commissioning and startup support.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to technical development initiatives.
